Scream Bloody Gore

The first Death album, full of some of the band’s greatest riffs, Regurgitated Guts is one motherfucker of riff fest, and is the most lyrically intensive on the death theme, with later albums veering towards philosophical principals. While it may not be the first death metal album, it certainly is what gave the genre it’s push to get off the ground. Death’s debut is still one of the best death metal releases, easily top 15, the group only trumped their first effort with their eventual last.

The Sound of Perseverance

Absolute perfection on every aspect of their sound, This is also Chuck’s peak in his vocals. From Scavenger of Human Sorrow to A Moment of Clarity, TSOP holds many of Death’s hallmark tracks. TSOP continues to be a staple of progressive death metal with it’s monolithic presence. TSOP’s philosophical lyrical composition with Chuck’s shrill voice is nothing short of a vice hard to escape. (Not to mention the incredible Painkiller cover)
