03.29.19 | I think that the hyper-alternative/experimental elements that are growing more common in rock music these days will accidentally bump into pop again soon
think stuff like Ghost will become the new thing and hipsters will regret liking the new album |

03.29.19 | It’ll be yet another decade infused by nonentities delivering their worthless material to the mind mulched masses who after 5mins will consign the ‘artist’ to the overflowing dustbin of rehashed, souless drivel that passes as innovation nowadays.
It’ll be that bad that people will want reunions of the absolute worst bands just so they can find some form of entertainment in a vapid world of nostalgia. |
Papa Universe
03.29.19 | People will finally recognise that vaporwave is the peak of human musical progress and accept it as the one and only true art genre and we will go back to the good old days when there was universally only one art style for every art form.

03.29.19 | Metal could make a potential comeback but the issue is that rap/trap music is at an all time high and modern metal music is lifeless and stagnant. I think we just need a band that could punch through the psuedo-mainstream with an original and fresh sound that's still obviously metal, enough to regain people's attention in the genre. This sorta thing happened in the early 80's with the downfall of bands like Sabbath and the rise of Metallica and Iron Maiden and in the 90's with the rise in nu-metal after a few years of nothing. It could happen again. |
granitenotebook
03.29.19 | early-mid 2020s will see a rise in high-energy pop music , potentially rap infused, probably with some sort of connection to a edm trend that has largely already came and went at that point (in an ideal world it’d be footwork but it’ll probably be like extremely low-effort sophie knockoffs or something). rock will continue to be dead although it’s continued underground-ness means it’ll be a little more exciting if less prolific. wealth and it’s effect will become a bigger part of music criticism. disco-lite will become a slightly bigger thing towards the end of the pop trend i mentioned in the first sentence. hip-hip will stagnate, and i have absolutely no idea what will replace it. |
granitenotebook
03.29.19 | pop stars will be relevant for longer than people expect due to extended adolescence, the internet and increasing cynicism. |

03.29.19 | I think,, in 2020s... there will be album |
TheMightyScoop
03.29.19 | hip hop has nothing to do with metal not being popular. Metal is killing itself with oversaturation of the market and shitty bands getting the most attention |
twlight
03.29.19 | i think we're going to see more and more psych rap. kinda in the vein of Kids See Ghosts. I could see that kind of production get more prevalent. Also, I'd love to see metal make a comeback |
StrikeOfTheBeast
03.29.19 | By the 2020's, Ari will turn 30, and her career will go downhill... :( |
Rik VII
03.29.19 | Metal has reached the point where the most popular bands are actually either (virtually) parodies, nostalgia suckers or old bands that people just listen to because they liked their stuff decades ago. I don't think it'll make a comeback anytime in the near future. Jazz however, I can definitely see that one coming back, with a lot of modern elements. Like, I can imagine electro jazz becoming a significant niche in the future.
"hip-hip will stagnate, and i have absolutely no idea what will replace it."
Yes, and to be honest, I'm kinda excited to see what could take its place. It's completely unpredictable as of now. |
TheNotrap
03.30.19 | Extreme metal will continue to be the most interesting genre, with an increasingly hybrid approach |
Firedust
03.30.19 | Indie hipsters and genericore/djent kids get deported to third-world countries where they are forced to do manual labour while listening to Nicki Minaj. |

03.30.19 | Sounds good to me |
dmathias52
03.30.19 | I honestly think that showtunes and musical theatre will re-enter the mainstream and get noticed by music critics. Hamilton was the start of it, but shows like Hadestown are musically just really good and really impressive. |

03.31.19 | "Unless trap gets completely ereaditcated Metal won’t ever come back"

01.28.21 | Hannibal Buress once asked Asa Akira didn't she think there was enough porn and that they didn't need to keep making any more of it and I think the same argument can be made for music |

01.28.21 | Bro, how new are you? "I really believe artists like Death Grips and Ghostemane are onto something, we'll see rap music go into a more artistic, weird and noisy direction taking influences from many other styles of music." Death Grips are like a 10 year old band. Lmao and rap has had experimental artists since the 90's. And Bones was doing Ghostemane's sound in 2012.
"Melodic heavy music?" Again it's been done and done and done some more.
"I can see stoner rock breaking more into the mainstream tbh" As if Queens of the Stone Age haven't been one of the biggest bands in the world for like 20 years. |
