Agalloch Rankening

one of the best American bands
10Agalloch
Tomorrow Will Never Come

-dat album cover
9Agalloch
From Which of This Oak

-dirty, powerful, and full of that ugly agalloch winter charm
8Agalloch
Of Stone, Wind and Pillor

-a good taste of b-sides between two of their best albums
7Agalloch
Ashes Against the Grain

-i wish i could put this higher but nothing really stands out about this one for me
-the individual songs are good but it lacks the truly memorable moments of their other releases
-that said, its probably their most consistent from start to finish as well
6Agalloch
Faustian Echoes

-engaging highlights with great movie samples
-no wasted time
-different theme/mood from most of their other releases, devious and occult
5Agalloch
The Serpent and the Sphere

-a brave transition from a career of winter albums into one about the cosmos, that works to a great degree
-larochette's acoustic pieces are boss and they add to the mystique of the album, making the whole affair feel more exclusive
-having the conclusion be a 20-minute-long pair of songs was a mistake and it runs out of steam in a pretentious fashion
4Agalloch
The White

-very charming atmospheric sections reminiscent of the mantle
-good vocals and orchestra samples make this worthwhile
3Agalloch
Marrow of the Spirit

-has the punch and power of the early releases without any of the flaws
-best career vocal delivery for haughm on niðstang
-bookends are two of their best songs ever
2Agalloch
The Mantle

-some of the best guitar tones/effects ever, esp on odal & lodge
-great progression between different types of songs from start to finish
-weak vocal arrangements but not enough to ruin the rest
-mandolin solo ftw
1Agalloch
Pale Folklore

-best agalloch lyrics by far and some tasty, tasty riffs
-the misshapen steed is weird but cool
-STELLAR female opera vocals. god damn them for never using them again
