Kage
08.11.06 | Ah, I gotcha: No bassists that have any sense of subtlety can be thought of as a good bassist. |
The Door Mouse
08.11.06 | jpj or paul mcartney |
BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please-
08.11.06 | It is in your best interest to check out Stanley Clarke's School Days album. If you did, I can promise that you'd add ol' Stanley on to this as-well. Fair list for the most part....
This should be called greatest "ELECTRIC" bassists, I can think of quite a few up-right bassists that I'd place way before some of these guys. |

08.11.06 | Les should be #1. and Cliff should be ahead of Flea.
Good job stealing singers and guitarists spotlight |
Blokus
08.11.06 | slack - Yes people tend to overrate them but they are something special.
Schyma - Thanks, i will definately check that out. And yes, this is just electric bass players.
Cocaine- Listen to some of the top 3's stuff. Sure Les can play better than Jaco, but Jaco had such a huge influence on so many bassists out today. |
Acey
08.11.06 | Martinie should be higher |
Lunarfall
08.11.06 | John Entwistle? Chris Squire? Good bassists, but there are greater. |
John Paul Harrison
08.11.06 | OMFG OMFG OMFG.
We need some John Paul Jones up in here. |
NuMetalMania
08.11.06 | Ever heard of Justin Chancellor? |

DesolationRow
08.11.06 | There are some staple bassists on here, but some are absolutely replacable. Ryan Martinie and Cliff are nowhere near as good as the rest of them, and even your choice of Steve Harris is questionable. May I suggest looking deeper into bass driven music than fusion and bad metal. John Entwistle, Bootsy Collins, Phil Lesh, Mike Watt, Jah Wobble, John Paul Jones, and Chris Squire are some choices that come to mind for me. |
Blokus
08.11.06 | ^^Yeah I've heard al them before. John Entwistle is a superb bassist. The reason I have Martinie and Burton on here is because of their style. It great affected the way i play bass.
NuMetalMania - Justin Chancellor would come in right after these guys. |
