Trifolium
03.16.19 | Pheeew, that was a big but nice undertaking. Too much to choose from. |
garas
03.16.19 | Oh, hehe I forgot to rate 37...
I definitely have to check some! |
Trifolium
03.16.19 | Cool! I liked it, but Open Eye Signal was almost painfully better than the other tracks. What did you think about it Garas?
I'll add some genre tags later tonight. Seems helpful. |
garas
03.16.19 | To be honest, my favourite on that album was always 'Abandon Window'. I love how "full" is it: the piano with lots of reverb, the synth drone, and the blunt noises (maybe a storm?).
'Open Eye Singal' was the track I discovered first back then, but it's just the second best one for me. But otherwise: yeah, some songs are not even close how good are those two. |
Trifolium
03.16.19 | I'll ceck Abandon Window again! I remember liking some tracks on that alot, yeah. I like the album that came before a lot too. |
sixdegrees
03.16.19 | Sean and Rob? |
Avagantamos
03.16.19 | ^ |
Avagantamos
03.16.19 | 34 rules, it's my favorite off of The Inheritors. have you heard his remix of The Sky was Pink? one of my all time fav electronic tunes |
Avagantamos
03.16.19 | slowly working towards my own big electronic list, but at this point i'm afraid it would be too heavy on IDM and minimal techno |
AnimalsAsSummit
03.16.19 | nice. 33 is one of the greatest albums. |
Trifolium
03.16.19 | Well, minimal techno is delish! I'd be interested to see that list happen man!
What's Sean and Rob stand for? Can't find it in the database. |
TheSpaceMan
03.16.19 | nice man cool list! consider adding genre tags? id have more incentive to cherry pick some of em.
8 is such a sleeper album, its unbelievably good when you dig into it. |
Trifolium
03.16.19 | Yeah man, was planning on adding genre tags this evening!
8 is incredible, agreed. I bent the rules a little by placing it here, haha, but I just wanted to give it another moment to shine! It features a drum computer, so it counts, right? |
TheSpaceMan
03.16.19 | fo sho counts imo |
Trifolium
03.16.19 | Genre tags added! |
Ryus
03.16.19 | "Sean and Rob?"
no
michael and marcus |
Trifolium
03.16.19 | These are some hard nuts to crack... My Google skills have failed me. I've clearly been living under a stone. |

Lord(e)Po)))ts
03.16.19 | Yas
I mean YAAAS |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
03.16.19 | Stimming, gold panda, and lapalux are my top 3 |
Trifolium
03.16.19 | Cooool! Stimming looks interesting, I've tried Gold Panda ages ago and didn't like them/him/her a lot, but I'll try again for yoooouuuu. |
ZippaThaRippa
03.16.19 | https://reznyck.bandcamp.com/album/french-erections |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
03.16.19 | *him and yes try again, try his latest album. And alpe lusia by stimming. And everything ever by lapalux |
Trifolium
03.16.19 | Will do!
And ''Yas I mean YAAAS'' was just happiness I presume? |
Trifolium
03.16.19 | Oooh and Zippa that looks spooky.
And painful for her. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
03.17.19 | You can translate it to "great list" |
Avagantamos
03.17.19 | Sean and Rob are the members of Autechre |
Trifolium
03.17.19 | Thanks!
Ah, I figured they would be recd sooner or later here. I've never reaaaally enjoyed the records I tried from them, and I did go through all the classics. Due for another go, who knows?
And let me guess, Marcus and Michael are Boards of Canada? Same thing as with Autechre, although Geogaddi was cool.
I like my electronics a little more minimal than those I guess... |
budgie
03.17.19 | there are a couple electronic stuffs i really like

Relinquished
03.17.19 | true / false af |
Trifolium
03.17.19 | Thanks budg! I'll put them on the to-do-list too. Hope Sunday has enough hours for all of these...
Haha Pots, that's an unusual opinion, but I guess we agree once more.
I'm more of a cold techno guy I think, love it if there's infinite space to get lost in, that Lakker one (42) is a good example. And Underworld if we're speaking about The Great Classics. |
Trifolium
03.17.19 | Oh my, I'll dream about some of these recs. Niiiiice! |
TheSpaceMan
03.17.19 | Boc rules autechre sucks complete ass
this is true |
Supercoolguy64
03.17.19 | 3 should have more votes
|
Lord(e)Po)))ts
03.17.19 | Aphex floats somewhere in the middle lol |
Avagantamos
03.17.19 | how does this one suit you?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSf52xWdX1s |
Avagantamos
03.17.19 | or just listen to bladelores that song definitely does not suck ass |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
03.17.19 | Trust me, I've let people try to convince me autechre doesnt suck for years, my distaste is firm |
Avagantamos
03.17.19 | I meant @ OP |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
03.17.19 | Ooo sorry |
Trifolium
03.17.19 | Goooood morning!
I'll check that one Avagantamos, thanks!
And I agree about Aphex Twin too Pots. What is it about those (Apex and Autechre) that doesn't really work? Or maybe better: why do these get such an overwhelmingly positive reputation? |
budgie
03.17.19 | what up trif brother
im bout sleep after this horror movie finishes upppppp
catch you tomorro |
Trifolium
03.17.19 | Making breakfast and going to have a bleep bloop Sunday. You being a robot (how did that happen again?) should approve of that!
Sweet dreams man!
I mean, I know it has been going on for billions of years and all, but this time difference is still weeeird. |
Trifolium
03.17.19 | Pots that Alpe Lusia by Stimming is coooool. Beautifully produced man, oof. |
Trifolium
03.17.19 | It's definitely better than some things I've heard by them, Avagantamos, the Autechre track you recd. However, like with most of their work, I just feel it's a cool idea, but doesn't fall into a groove or work together in such a way that I can feel it or enjoy it on another level from 'oh, nice production/soundscapes/textures'.
The ingredients are there, but the actual dish isn't doing much for me. |
Trifolium
03.23.19 | Bump for Stimming, will add to the list. |
Valzentia
03.23.19 | Pendulum - Hold Your Colour
https://youtube.com/watch?v=9mWLig0s_9k |
Trifolium
03.23.19 | Yeah, greeeaaat track. I've already picked Sounds Of Life for my list though! At number 56. Pendulum are such a big childhood Crush (...ha ha, see what I did there?) of mine. |
Chortles
03.23.19 | very nice! some beauties here and some to check.two recs:
Ishome - Confession
AL-90 - Code 915913
|
Trifolium
03.23.19 | Thanks man! I'll make sure to check those, loving the description of Ishome already.
Added DDD's Sensible Soccers too, it's greeaat. |
Deathconscious
03.23.19 | Nice list, im always looking for more good electronic, but as was said, its hardly covered here. |
budgie
03.23.19 | u never listened to my rec ;[ |
Trifolium
03.23.19 | Oooh nooo budgie I totally forgot!!! My most sincere and heartfelt apologies. On it right away!
Totally agree Adolf. A real pity. |
Trifolium
03.27.19 | Some nice recs budgie bro! Loved Lucy in Disguise most, but Amalie Holt Kleive is nice too!
Now, onto the rest... |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
04.15.19 | 83 rules |
Trifolium
04.15.19 | Omg yes it so does!!! I want a physical release so badly! |
Trifolium
04.18.19 | Ok, added DJ Sprinkles for luci and BECAUSE IT'S AWESOME!
Keep meaning to listen to the other recs too, but there's so much to listen to. |
luci
04.18.19 | excellent picks all over. glad to have another electronic head here |
Demon of the Fall
04.18.19 | Nice list, missed this the first time around. There's some excellent stuff here (and a couple I don't personally care for). I will endeavour to delve into the stuff I'm unfamiliar with. |
Demon of the Fall
04.18.19 | Check this Trifo: https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/59726/Prefuse-73-One-Word-Extinguisher/
P.S. I'm a little offended by your rating for Tomorrow's Harvest. |
Trifolium
04.18.19 | Thanks Demon, I'll check that for sure. Never heard of them before!
Concerning Boards Of Canada: I don't really dig them at all, Geogaddi was nice, but the rest just isn't my thing. I know I'm in the minority here, and I've tried to get into them multiple times during different moods, but they just never worked for me. I will surely try once more later though, you never know! What's your fave BoC? |
Demon of the Fall
04.18.19 | Fair enough, I just wanted to rec you that and so needed to peruse your ratings to see if you'd done so already.
Geogaddi is my fave, although 'Music has the Right' is nearly as good. I do have to be in the right (chilled out) mood and it took many years myself tbh. |
Trifolium
04.18.19 | Nice, so there's still hope!
You know, the idea of them really appeals to me. Plus I haven't ever checked The Campfire Headphase. Is it worth a try? |
Demon of the Fall
04.18.19 | Yes, as it's not really like their other work. More trippy almost psych-like leanings. |
Trifolium
04.18.19 | Hmm, nice! I'll check that, maybe it'll be my way in. |
treeman2STIFF
04.18.19 | theres so much techno and house music that ive wanted to add to sputnik but thats so much work lol
@trifolium campfire headphase is my favorite album by them, really beautiful, totally different space than MHTR or geogaddi |
ArsMoriendi
04.18.19 | Trif, if you love Portishead, Goldfrapp's Felt Mountain is a must |
Trifolium
04.18.19 | Just do it Treeman, I'll listen to them if you add them ;-)
Omg Ars I totally should have, it's a nice album, agreed. Although I think I actually prefer Tales Of Us recently... |
Demon of the Fall
04.18.19 | Felt Mountain rules yeah, not really a fan of their other stuff weirdly. |
Trifolium
04.18.19 | I think Felt Mountain is a bit uneven, Tales Of Us is really great, have you checked that Demon? |
Trifolium
08.01.19 | 91, 92 and 93 are my newest (old) loves. Hmmmmmm so good. |
Demon of the Fall
08.01.19 | Thought this was a new list at first, I'm stupid (or forgetful). Nice to see it once again. |
Trifolium
10.10.19 | I could do with some new techno recs (preferably minimal) if someone has them!
Added 94-97 today, lovely albums. |
Trifolium
10.22.19 | Oh and also 100 is perfect! So good. Happy I finally checked it. Only one more spot and this will be fulllllll. Sad days. |
Demon of the Fall
10.22.19 | That Mikron release rules. I'm still slacking on some of these, sorry :-(
It's always good to see this list though. |
Trifolium
10.22.19 | No prob man!
I like seeing them all in one spot too. Makes me happy! Plus it's a great way to track which artists I dig, for the next time I'm going on a Discogs buying spree hahaha! |
Bedex
10.22.19 | ooh nice list Trif don't know how I missed it |
Trifolium
10.22.19 | Thanks dude! It's an oldie already but I guess it must have slipped away in the great struggle for survival that is our beloved Sput. |
Bedex
10.22.19 | Yeah it's bleak for electronica out there. I've only heard a few of these, but they were all fantastic. Since you like dub techno by the looks of things, have you heard Nthng - Remember Us? |
Trifolium
10.22.19 | No I haven't! Thanks for the rec, I'll check it for sure.
I've been meaning to review more electronic releases that I feel deserve their time in the sun. Hope I find the time haha! |
Bedex
10.22.19 | Aye let me know what you think!
That would be good for sure! This website definitely needs a lot more reviews hey |
Trifolium
10.14.22 | Bumping this because 20 doesn't have a review, nor do any of its associated artists' releases. Oh my. A pity!
(OH Wait oops untrue, Voices From The Lake obviously does, but still!) |
normaloctagon
10.14.22 | Haha βtechno/goes pretty hardβ love it made me chuckle |
Pangea
10.14.22 | so many electronic albums with that fate :(
i was thinking that maybe we should have like an electronic nerd club thread where we can discuss everything with no review and give recs and stuff |
Demon of the Fall
10.14.22 | I remember this
Weval looks very interesting, should check |
Trifolium
10.14.22 | Hihihihh yes occy agreed, 2019 Trif is right though, it does go pretty hard πβ¨β¨β¨
Pan yes lists are way batter for this almost, except for their general 'snowing under' effect, both from the home page and comment-wise.
We should all just review more electronic stuff, despite how hard it is! |
Trifolium
10.14.22 | And YES they rule Demon, definitely! Could see you enjoy them with the triphoppy vibes and all. |
Pangea
10.14.22 | That's true, i haven't been very attentive to lists in general lately. Should change that
Just lately it has happened a lot that i wanted to discuss certain electronic artists/albums and finding that there is no good place to talk about it on sput
like there's no John Tejada review and Parabolas is soo good
Reviews are the best yeah. Uh i will try to write some once i have an own laptop again |
Pangea
10.14.22 | and no Daniel Avery reviews, i mean what are we doing? |
Pangea
10.14.22 | oops nvm drone logic has one |
Demon of the Fall
10.14.22 | electronic-orientated listing is necessary due to the lack of reviews, but yeah when there is a review, we all flock there like flies on shit because it doesn't happen often enough. I do even if the release in question might not be my particular tipple, especially if good people are around (some are present :-))
I should be more attentive to lists in general (2) |
Trifolium
10.14.22 | "like there's no John Tejada review and Parabolas is soo good"
DO IT I would LIVE THERE!!!!
Happiness Johnny, many treasures indeed π |
Trifolium
10.14.22 | Well then visit the Minilogue - Blomma review I wrote last week I felt lonely there!!!! |
Demon of the Fall
10.14.22 | oh wow, must have missed that Trif! Will take a peek |
Trifolium
10.14.22 | Good, good.
You should, should.
β
I even wrote a song about it for you! |
VlacDrac
10.14.22 | Nice list, Trifolium. |
Trifolium
10.14.22 | Thanks Drac! You've got a nice Rothko there on your profile page! |
Demon of the Fall
10.17.22 | Weval is starting off strongly, I enjoyed 'Easier'
listening to the S/T RIGHT NOW! |
Trifolium
10.17.22 | Demon YESSS! Such a Trif-recs filled day for you it seems! I enjoy their Half Age EP the most, it's wonderful.
On the S/T I Don't Need It is one of their career highs though... |
Demon of the Fall
10.17.22 | oh, need to check that one then
'I Don't Need It' is inappropriately named because we DO need it.
might peek a few others here, eventually
|
Trifolium
10.17.22 | I KNOW! It's crazy. Lovely shuffling beat and a super nice colourful tune overall.
Love to hear what you think of what and if they remind you of stuff I should check so let me know! |
Demon of the Fall
10.17.22 | 'Someday' from 'The Weight' is a big wow!
Hooray for Weval! |
Trifolium
10.17.22 | Yeah yeah YEAH that track is golden.
Lovely group indeed! |
Mort.
01.11.23 | oooh la la im gonna have to browse this |

01.11.23 | Good bump bookmarked |
MoM
01.11.23 | βoooh la la im gonna have to browse thisβ
Smae. Been in a particularly electronic mood lately too |
Trifolium
01.11.23 | Niiiiice!!!!! How did this end up on your radar all of a sudden Mort?
All of these are my sweeties. |
Mort.
01.11.23 | because i keep on listening to electronic albums that interest me and seeing you in the comments.
so i assumed you might have a list of electronic stuff to check and lo and behold!
just got done listening to The Field's debut. now checking underworld-dubnobasswithmyheadman and machine girl - gemini |
Demon of the Fall
01.11.23 | Yeah, I remember this list, it is a beautiful thing |
Trifolium
01.11.23 | Gooooood, those are lovely ones. dubnobass is one of the all time best.
Also check 42 it's amazing, especially that one track oh my.
Maybe I should do a part 2 of this one day. There is so much more out there that isn't here yet.
Also hi Demon!!! We posted simultaneously has Phero hacked you? |

01.11.23 | so glad sput seems to be interested in electronic music now. when deviant disappeared I thought all hope was lost. |
protokute
01.11.23 | Trif, I have a feeling you'll dig Robert Miles - Children (progressive trance)
and Chicane - Behind The Sun ... to ease you into the wonderful world of trance music |
pizzamachine
01.11.23 | Deviant was one electronic gatekeeper, but many enjoyers of boops remain |
Hyperion1001
01.11.23 | all hail the bleeps |
Trifolium
01.12.23 | Agreeeeeeed! Bleeps are (among) the best! |
Trifolium
01.20.23 | OH NO! How is there not a single Weval review on Sput??? I could swear there used to be at least one (for The Weight if I remember correctly...).
Anyway, they've got a new LP coming, and LUCKILY Changed For The Better is going to be on there.
https://youtu.be/q12YnJ_9y4Q |
Mort.
01.20.23 | it is insane how nostalgic porcelain by moby is.
turns out it was super popular around when i was born so i was probably hearing it as a kid
some aftershave ad sampled it recently and i had to find out where it was from |
Trifolium
01.20.23 | Yeah I can totally relate to that. One of the most nostalgic tunes for me. Still love it too, he's released some great stuff.
Do you know Weval Mort.? |
Mort.
01.20.23 | no i dont, but im listening to that 'Changed for the better track you linked above and am enjoying it |
Trifolium
01.20.23 | Nice! Their Half Age EP is my fave I'd say. Nice combo of Trip Hop vibes with Techno (they're a duo, those are their individual preferences, makes for a super sweet mix of styles). |
