| The first hundred shows
Another more journal entry type thing for me.
Here's a list of the first 100 bands/shows I have seen live. Each album is relevant to what the band was touring at the time | 1 | | Ozzy Osbourne Scream
Scream World Tour
Target Center, Minneaoplis, 1/12/11
My first concert experience, and luckily not a totally embarrassing one at that. Ozzy put on a fun show, and I was awestruck for the entire duration. It had a healthy amount of Sabbath as well. | 2 | | All That Remains The Fall of Ideals
Share the Welt Tour
Myth Nightclub, Maplewood, 12/14/11
All That Remains was my first real club venue band I had seen. It also was the first mosh pit I have ever seen. My sister brought me to this show for my birthday, as she was a fan of every band on this tour. | 3 | | Hatebreed Hatebreed
Share the Welt Tour
Myth Nightclub, Maplewood, 12/14/11
My first club show was a slightly embarrassing one, but there is not regrets in seeing Hatebreed live. They absolutely stole the show (not a hard thing to do) and made me love them even more. | 4 | | Five Finger Death Punch American Capitalist
Share the Welt tour
Myth Nightclub, Maplewood, 12/14/11
At the time this was one of my favorite bands.... I regret this one, but here it is. | 5 | | Lacuna Coil Dark Adrenaline

Myth Nightclub, Maplewood, 2/14/12 | 6 | | Volbeat Beyond Hell/Above Heaven
Gigantour
Myth Nightclub, Maplewood, 2/14/12
First time in MN! That got me a bit pumped. | 7 | | Motorhead The World Is Yours
Gigantour
Myth Nightclub, Maplewood, 2/14/12
I am so happy that I got to see Motorhead preform once in my life. They were great, and Overkill was astounding live. The lights on stage got blocked out and all the lights shined on the moshpit | 8 | | Megadeth Th1rt3en
Gigantour
Myth Nightclub, Maplewood, 2/14/12
This was my friends favorite band. I respected the band at the time, and they did put on a great show. | 9 | | Screaming Mechanical Brain The Policy of Unilateral Hate
Station 4, St. Paul, 4/22/12 | 10 | | Psychostick Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosarus in 3-D
Station 4, St. Paul, 4/22/12
Loved this band in high school. It was the only show I went to at the now gone Station 4 venue. Probably a good thing. | 11 | | Cheap Trick Heaven Tonight
Global Warming Tour
Target Center, Minneapolis, 6/16/12
The sound was awful. | 12 | | Aerosmith Music from Another Dimension

Knotfest
Somerset Amphitheater, Somerset, 8/18/12
I think this was my first encounter with a truly excellent show (not the only one for the day). This band helped me transfer from the slightly mediocre music I was listening to into more experimental and aggressive music. | 16 | | Cannibal Corpse Torture
Knotfest
Somerset Amphitheater, Somerset, 8/18/12 | 17 | | Serj Tankian Harakiri
Knotfest
Somerset Amphitheater, Somerset, 8/18/12

Knotfest
Somerset Amphitheater, Somerset, 8/18/12
I had a love affair with this band at this time, and they blew me away. It was the first time I went into the moshpit as well. | 19 | | Deftones Koi No Yokan
Knotfest
Somerset Amphitheater, Somerset, 8/18/12
After I spit out the clump of dirt in my mouth, I sat in the rain and watched from a hill the beauty of a Deftones performance. This was one of the most memorably beautiful shows I have seen. | 20 | | Lamb of God Resolution
Knotfest
Somerset Amphitheater, Somerset, 8/18/12 | 21 | | Slipknot Slipknot

Fucking m/ | 27 | | Brain Tumors Brain Tumors EP
7th St Entry, Minneapolis, Nov 15th, 2012
Up until this point I had only really seen metal bands, so this was my first punk show. It was intense, only about 30 people were there and I went with my sister because Gallows were one of our favorite bands. Brain Tumors played a 5 minute set where they destroyed the venue, and it was terrifying but awesome. | 28 | | Barn Burner Bangers II: Scum of the Earth
7th St Entry, Minneapolis, Nov 15th, 2012 | 29 | | Gallows Gallows
7th St Entry, Minneapolis, Nov 15th, 2012

Mill City Nights, Minneapolis, Nov 19th, 2012 | 31 | | Streetlight Manifesto Everything Goes Numb
Mill City Nights, Minneapolis, Nov 19th, 2012
One of the first punk bands I got into. I went to this show because I didn't have anything else to do, I was expecting a chill show..... No idea why, looking back at it because it was absolutely nuts. Nonstop dancing, I fell down, it was amazing. Probably my favorite show I have ever been to. | 32 | | Vintage Trouble Bomb Shelter Sessions

02.19.19 | Wow. I wish I had done something like this | Minushuman24
02.20.19 | It's fun to keep track of for sure, not sure if I'm gonna keep going with it though. | Kompys2000
02.20.19 | Damn this makes me realize 99% of all the concerts I've been to have been no-name local shows, | Minushuman24
02.20.19 | Those are great though. In the past year that's most the shows I've been to.
Supporting the local scene is important, I wish I did that earlier on. | Kompys2000
02.20.19 | No yeah local shows are the best! As fun as it is to see a famous band who I'm a big fan of, it's also a much less intimate, personal experience (not to mention a lot more expensive!). It's just also easier to brag about to strangers on the internet, is all I'm sayin' (: | Minushuman24
02.20.19 | ahhhhaha I got ya | BigHans
02.20.19 | I can quite easily see you live in Minneapolis. Im in Fargo, come down all the time for shows. The Myth rules. | Minushuman24
02.20.19 | Oh damn! That's cool,been a while I was in Fargo.
Yeah not a huge fan of the Myth personally. I like the Varsity in dinkytown | BigHans
02.20.19 | Varsity is great. First Ave is my favorite. The Armory is quickly climbing my list of favorite venues. | Minushuman24
02.20.19 | I've yet to go to the Armory, but I hear nothing but great things.
Hopefully sometime soon
And yeah First Ave is so solid, excellent venue. | pjquinones747
02.20.19 | I love the evolution of taste. Gotta say, mate, you have gone to a fuck ton of shows. 100 in roughly two years? Damn. | accompliceofmydeath
02.20.19 | Cool, we've been to a few of the same shows (Warped Tour, the Hatebreed/TAS tour, Jimmy Eat World). | accompliceofmydeath
02.20.19 | Also, The Myth sucks. RIP to Station 4. | Minushuman24
02.20.19 | Yeah, it's definitely an evolution of sorts. Thanks, I think, I do love going to shows when the funds permit.
Oh that's sick, we've probably been to quite a few from 2014-now. And Hard Agree | BigHans
02.20.19 | Maybe I just like the Myth because of the bands they book (Clutch, Steel Panther Black Label Society, COC etc) | accompliceofmydeath
02.20.19 | I mostly go to smaller hardcore shows, but I definitely hit the big ones up on occasion. What shows do you have coming up that you're going to? | Minushuman24
02.20.19 | They do get a load of good shows for sure.
And for shows I'm going to probably Portrayal of Guilt, MURF, Would like to go to Daughters, but that's sold out. |
