Upside Down Mountain
Went to see him in concert for the first time while he was touring these songs, this is the album that got me back into his music after years of leaving it on the shelf. I find a lot of the lyrical content here more relatable at this point. Tempted to put this one above Wide Awake, but the highs on that album are keeping this below it. | | 4 |  | Bright Eyes

Huge Phoebe Bridgers fan so the hype for this has been unreal. It ended up being everything that I could have hoped for, their styles blend together so seamlessly. It's his most inspired sounding and sonically interesting output since he dropped the Bright Eyes moniker. Could end up being my favorite thing he's done. | | 1 |  | Bright Eyes
Cassadaga
Started out listening to Fevers and Mirrors / Lifted almost exclusively, but those albums have grown off of me a lot over the years. This one ended up being my favorite pretty quickly after hearing it and that hasn't changed. I'm a big fan of his country-folk band sound and, in my opinion, this has a lot of his best lyrics on it as well. | |

01.25.19 | For some reason Cassadaga really hit me when I was a teenager. I can't explain why but to me it's a step above anything else he's done, and I've loved every Bright Eyes album. Although i'm obsessing over BOCC right now, it's fantastic. | donttakeapicture
01.25.19 | I got into Bright Eyes around age 18 or 19 with the song "If Winter Ends" then subsequently bought all of the Bright Eyes cd's. Cassadaga included and was very disappointed by Cassadaga. Digital Ash is very underrated though. Why didn't you include the first 3 bright eyes albums at all?
I don't count Songs Recorded 1995 - 1997 as an album that compilation of half baked demos sucked ass | reverendgreen95
01.25.19 | I got into him at age 14 with, if I remember right, Bowl of Oranges. I didn't include the first 3 because I never listen to them anymore so ranking 'em would feel weird. I listened to those albums so much and still appreciate them for what they are, but it's just not my jam at this point. I can see Cassadaga being a disappointment if you gravitate towards his old style. I just loved everything he did back then and saw it more as another step forward instead of a departure. The People's Key definitely let me down though, aside from a couple good songs. Agreed on the Songs Recorded compilation haha. | widowslaugh123
