The Black Twilight Circle / Crepusculo Negro

To this day, I firmly believe the BTC was one of the best things USBM has ever produced. Everything they’ve released has been gold, and for awhile they ruled they ruled the underground. Been jamming them a lot tonight.
1Volahn / Shataan / Arizmenda / Kallathon
Desert Dances and Serpent Sermons

“Chamalcan” is not only one of the best songs from Volahn (who has a whole discography of mind-blowers), but somehow captures the rustic beauty of the Wild West.
2Arizmenda
Within the Vacuum of Infinity...

Arizmenda is my favorite act from the BTC and their debut remains a monument of despair-filled atmospheric black metal. The depth of sound here is so entrancing, capturing the many shades of insanity in it’s beautiful yet torturous execution.
3Odz Manouk
Odz Manouk

Odz Manouk evokes pure ritualistic splendor, using their instruments to excavate a chasm of blackened phrases and ghoulish incantations. Their sound is so off-kilter and unnerving, creating a palpable tension few others are capable of.
4Kuxan Suum
Kuxan Suum

Psychedelic and raw, Kuxan Suum is the equivalent to dropping peyote in hell, slowly losing your mind in a maze of unexpected melodies and flame seared walls.
5Axeman
Arrive

Crusty punk-y black metal inspired by Ambiex yer executed with the mysticism of early Darkthrone .
