KEN mode Ranked

Mongrel

KEN mode are just one those bands that gets better with age. In that regard, their debut, while a solid effort, pales in comparison with the greatness they achieved later on.
6KEN mode
Mennonite

Just really not that hard hitting of a record when compared to the rest of their discography. Just kind of a business as usual for KEN mode with a little bit too clean production
5KEN mode
Reprisal

easily one of the most underappreciated hardcore records of last decade. incredible and frantic instrumentation, insane song structures, and signature screams are all over this thing.
4KEN mode
Entrench

This is where we start getting into the nitty gritty. This record has consistently excellent hardcore bangers with perfect production that makes their sound a little bit more clear but still maintaining that raw edge theyre known for. just done a bit better on the top 3 imo
3KEN mode
Loved

its new but goddamn is it amazing. this may be their heaviest record yet as it sounds more like an experimental sludge record than hardcore. fucking filthy front to back.
2KEN mode
Success

probably their most hated record but I like it quite a bit. Easily their least hardcore release, as it takes heavy inspiration from post hardcore, noise, and sludge sounds (Melvins, Jesus Lizard, Unsane, etc). Goes toe to toe with Loved for being the heaviest KEN mode record. Compositionally and instrumentally, this thing is downright amazing with some of the heaviest riffing I've ever heard. vocals are very reminiscent of jesus lizard.

Venerable

has one of my favorite intro tracks of all time (Book of Muscle). first half of this thing is brilliant, while the second half is a bit more ominous and brooding but still extremely heavy. Competes with Success for the 1st spot but this record blew me away a bit more on my first listen.
