| saw metallica last night | 1 | | Metallica Hardwired... to Self-Destruct
They opened with Hardwired and throughout the night only played two other songs from this album. I haven't listened to it aside from the singles (which is what they played) but I was surprised at how well they fit into their setlist. Maybe it just because it was in a live setting, but they felt more sincerely like older Metallica than when listening to them from the record. | 2 | | Metallica Load
Honestly, I was kind of hoping for a song or two from this (I would have been happy with "Until It Sleeps", "King Nothing", or "2X4" but they didn't play anything from this record.... | 3 | | Metallica Reload
... but we did get "Fuel". It's certainly not my favorite Metallica track from this album, but when you're 5 stories up and can feel the heat from the pyrotechnics as Jaymz jumps into the chorus, it's pretty hard to not be enthralled by what you're experiencing. | 4 | | Metallica Death Magnetic
Kind of like their Hardwired... material, I don't really care for/about anything from this album, but "The Day That Never Comes" is another newer track that in spirit, feels like older Metallica. | 5 | | Metallica Ride the Lightning
As expected, the tracks from this album "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and "Creeping Death" were amazing to see live and with 25,000 other rabid Metallica fans. Both are anthemic thrashers and the latter's bridge especially was so powerful to experience. I always knew that part would be epic live but until you live it, you really don't have an idea. | 6 | | Metallica Master of Puppets
I really thought they would have played more from this, and I was a bit bummed they didn't play "Battery". That being said, the self-titled track was a bruiser and "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" felt otherworldly almost. | 7 | | Metallica Kill 'Em All
Obviously "Seek and Destroy" is a track every Metallica fan wants to see live (and it was AMAZING) but even though it was cool that they played "Phantom Lord" for the first time since 2013, there are 6-7 other tracks from this record I would have preferred they play instead. | 8 | | Metallica Metallica
I basically zoned out during the few songs they played from this record. Sure, they sounded huge but in contest with their earlier material (and honestly some of their newest) I just wasn't feeling it. | 9 | | Metallica ...And Justice for All
I wasn't expecting them to perform "Harvester of Sorrow" so that was a welcome surprise, but let's be real... I've been waiting since day one as a Metallica fan to see "One" live and it was just as grand as I imagined. The sounds of war that opened led beautifully into the actual song, and from there you should know how it escalates. It was something I will always remember. | 10 | | Metallica Live Shit: Binge & Purge
Overall, I would say my night was a 7.5/10. The sound was kind of muffled (though I attribute this to where I was sitting) and the people sitting next to me were full on arguing/in drama mode which unfortunately detracted from my experience as well (once again, no fault of Metallica). They're definitely a band I recommend seeing (if you can spare $140) and one that I would be thrilled to see again. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. | |

10.26.18 | Overall great experience despite the people having a spat near you. Decent spread of material. I reckon 2x4 would go well live. I’ve seen them twice years back, worth it. Live Shit ‘88 would’ve been a dream. | Coast

10.26.18 | saw them too around Hardwired time, agree with the older stuff fitting in better live. happens in most cases since they kinda blend together in tones and experience. | Kalopsia
10.26.18 | glad you had fun man!
I saw them back in... '03 I think it was and Godsmack opened for them. that was an awesome show. and only $75 then.
dunno if I'd pay the ticket prices they're asking for these days at this stage in their career tho | rockandmetaljunkie
10.26.18 | I have said it many times: part of metallica's success is that, even in their 50's, they remain a killer live band. | BerryGarlicia

10.27.18 | I saw them last Saturday for the first time and can confirm it was worth the money. They played a couple more Hardwired songs than they did at your show but they also broke out fucking "Blackened" which was insane. | Tyler.
