Top 15 Hands Like Houses Songs

Well congrats to Hands Like Houses for releasing an album I can stomach again! Still, anon is nowhere near as good as the first 2. I sometimes forget how much I love this band because of how far they've drifted down, but god damn, Ground Dweller is an all time favorite still.

No Parallels - THIS SONG IS SO HAPPY, I just had to include the happy song! And I must say, I’m pretty happy about it

Shapeshifters - I saw them play this live before the studio version and it was such a jam
13Hands Like Houses
Ground Dweller

Don't Look Now, I'm Being Followed. Act Normal - If you strip Ground Dweller of its complexity, you still have some of the best hooks in the game. This always felt the poppiest to me out of every song on that album and in a good way because wow, that chorus is infectious.
12Hands Like Houses
Reimagine

revive (Introduced Species) - I remember thinking Introduced Species was a bit of a step back when they released it and yeah, it's not as good as most of Ground Dweller, but I ended up really liking it. Hell, at a concert a while back they played both Introduced Species and Monster in between sets and one track made me nostalgic and the other made me sad.

But we're not talking about Introduced Species, we're talking about the most beautiful possible version of this song they could have reimagined. I like Reimagine quite a bit but this is the only one of those tracks that is in a completely different league than the original because of how good it is.

A Tale of Outer Suburbia - I used to to probably have this in my top 5, and don't get me wrong, it's still pretty outstanding but now I can't help but feel that it's missing something? Idk. Anyway, I love a good ol slow power ballad and that piano in the bridge is gorgeous.

Oceandust - This track is the most beautiful thing this band has put out and I think it's the easiest to get lost in. Choosing to go from a slow power ballad to a piano ballad definitely worked out.

Developments - I remember downloading this album for the first time and borderline crying (yano, senior year HS, "I still am kinda in the emo phase" crying) because on first listen this immediately became my favorite track this band has ever done. It's one of those "when I'm in the right mood, this could totally be my favorite track by this band" kind of tracks. A logical step forward from Ground Dweller and another stellar chorus.

Ground Dweller

Lion Skin - If even a small fraction of "epic" from this track was shed upon Dissonance, it might have been a passable 2.5 album. I remember finding out that my friends found this band and this used to be one our jaaams.
7Hands Like Houses
Ground Dweller

Antarctica - The first song I heard by these guys all because good ol Sputnikmusic had this at #1 on the Trending Albums list when it came out. A freaking Rise Records band on top of the prestigious Sputnik Trending Albums list??? I'm sure that's never happening again, but I'm really glad it did because this song opened my eyes to one of my favorite bands. This is the song that I think best defines this band and I really wish they thought the same.

A Fire on a Hill - Have you guys seen the release video of this song with them drawing the house? I could not stop watching that on that day. Partly because it was really cool, but also because I really thought this might be the best song these guys have ever made. Definitely one of their most beautiful.

Wisteria - a sequel to The Sower and probably the most developed track this band has ever put out. It's got the Ground Dweller energy, but it feels so refined. If there was a song that I wish was an indicator of what to come, I wish it was this.
4Hands Like Houses
Ground Dweller

The Definition of Not Leaving - I love the softer tracks by these guys and this is the best one.
3Hands Like Houses
Ground Dweller

Spineless Crow - yano, this is already a top tier HLH song but it's that big climax towards the end really makes it for me. Definitely the first track I heard by them that gave me chills.
2Hands Like Houses
Ground Dweller

This Ain't No Place For Animals - Ground Dweller is kind of a mess. This track has so many ideas and I think it's the best example of how messy it was. But I love every second of it. The atmosphere for this one is kinda dark. The chorus is just so epic and gahh "MY HEART'S AT A MILLION MILES AN HOUR AS WE BRACE FOR THE IMPACT, IT MAKES TIME STAND STILL" is easily one of the coolest parts they've ever done.

Ground Dweller

The Sower - that bomb intro riff, that powerful chorus, and that perfect bridge. "I'll be the page of your book that's missing". One of my favorite songs.
