sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | is this something like stubhub? if so it still works man unless there's a specific rule that the ticket must be in your name. check wembley's website or call them if you have to |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | i used stubhub to buy a 130 dollar ticket for a sold out king crimson concert and they just scanned my print off and let me in. there was another occasion i bought a resold ticket for tool/primus and had to call the venue and work it out with the seller to put the ticket in my own name so i could get in |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | but no i mean buying a resold ticket isnt illegal or anything, viagogo may be a ripoff (never heard of em) but yeah just call the venue and see whats up. maybe even let them know you bought a resold ticket |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | do you not have a physical ticket or something |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | either way do what you can to make it, i saw this same lineup back in august on some highly potent lsd and it was pretty fuckin killer |
BenThatsMyJamin
10.05.18 | "check wembley's website or call them if you have to"
Their website says they check names and I have heard of venues doing this, but I went to another large venue recently and they just scanned and sent you in even though their website says the same. I don't wanna phone up as if they know loads of people are coming with resold tickets (it sold out instantly) they'll make staff check. I think the whole point of checking names is to eventually get rid of these resale sites, but it just hurts the fans really.
"do you not have a physical ticket or something"
Their retarded system is to post it to you like a week/two weeks before the event
"either way do what you can to make it, i saw this same lineup back in august on some highly potent lsd and it was pretty fuckin killer"
Dude THIS is why I'm so anxious, the regrets for missing this would be mad |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | i mean even ticketmaster does official resold tickets on their website, it shouldnt be an issue to say you bought a ticket off a 3rd party site |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | if there's a way you can get in touch with the seller and transfer the ticket into your own name you could try that. but if youre really worried you may just have to go to cardiff, great thing is you probably wouldnt take a loss on reselling the ticket since its slayers final tour |
BenThatsMyJamin
10.05.18 | Yeah but Ticketmaster are kinda cunts too, pretty sure they get bots to buy their tickets off their own site and then list them on their resale site to make more profit. Idk I just know in the UK atm there's a big crackdown on reselling and one of the ways to do that is checking names on tickets |
BenThatsMyJamin
10.05.18 | Yeah sometimes I wish I didn't live near London, everything is so much easier everywhere else (on the subject how the fuck have not all their stops sold out yet???) |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | i dont think ive had a name check on a ticket ever but ive been to shows where you have to scan the card you bought the ticket with to identify yourself. i think that was only iron maiden |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | yeah i live in the usa so i dunno whats happenin there |
BenThatsMyJamin
10.05.18 | Dude your concert list sounds stacked, all the fuckin classics |
Deez
10.05.18 | Name checks are always a bluff. Security haven't got time to be checking the name if every single person that attends a show. Especially Wembley. Only prob would be a duplicate ticket |
zakalwe
10.05.18 | I’ve bought off them before the rip-off cunts. Still managed to get into venues no probs but fuck me it’s steep. |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | well hell man i'd take the chance in that case. keep your joints in a cigarette packet |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | lol yeah ive only been to around 50 concerts but its a sweet list |
BenThatsMyJamin
10.05.18 | Yeah it's ridiculously steep but the price doesn't bother me that much given the nature of the show as long as I actually get in, but you guys are already making me feel way more optimistic about the situation so cheers for that ya beauts |
Relinquished
10.05.18 | yea nowadays there's no excuse to research whatever services you're gonna use
not that I had a problem with viagogo before cuz I never wanted to use it |
BenThatsMyJamin
10.05.18 | I didn't really have time to research as even the resale tickets were selling almost instantly, this was probably less than 10 mins after tix had gone live. If it all goes well and I do get in I'll actually have done pretty well for myself as I got some of the cheapest resale ones on the site, any later and I would have been paying in excess of £160 each.
But I guess the case of viagogo is particularly interesting given that it's got to the point where it's being discussed in bloody parliament, which just seems crazy |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | shit usually wont even sell out in georgia which is where im at. sometimes it comes in handy that im surrounded by retards |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | i dont even think slayer sold out. only reason crimson sold out is because they chose a fuckin 1000 seater despite having not played georgia since like 2000 |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | i got tickets to my first rush show like 3 days before the gig. if i lived in atlanta i would probably just show up day of show for more shit so i could skip ticketbastard fees |
sonictheplumber
10.05.18 | whats crazy is lynyrd skynyrd played the same venue i saw slayer at like a week later and that gig sold out. i wasnt there |
BenThatsMyJamin
10.05.18 | Sounds like heaven tbh, polar opposite of London. And maybe as a foreigner this is lazy generalisation but Lynyrd Skynyrd selling out in Georgia seems to make perfect sense |
