| 1986 | 1 | | Metallica Master of Puppets
Metallica at their absolute best. There's not much that needs to be said. This album is the heaviest, the fastest, and the angriest they have ever been, and the result is one of the best albums ever made. | 2 | | Iron Maiden Somewhere in Time
I absolutely love every single Maiden album pretty much equally, and I try to avoid picking favorites or crowning the bests since it honestly changes all the time. But if you put a gun to my face and forced me to pick the best one, I think I'll have to pick Somewhere in Time.
In this album the band reached technical and emontional heights that almost seem unreal. Every song is different from the others, and yet all of them feel like a logical continuation of the previous one. It's a cold, gloomy and estranged album and yet I simply cannot stop myself from smiling. What a perfect experience. | 3 | | Megadeth Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?
This album has earned its "classic" status respectfully. Some of the songs here will remain timeless forever.
(I never thought I'd ever get to see "The Conjouring" live, and when they brought it back for their Graspop show last june after almost 20 years, I honestly thought I'm dreaming.) | 4 | | Slayer Reign in Blood
This album is a huge clusterfuck of violence and distortion. Not my favorite, but still a great album. | 5 | | Ozzy Osbourne The Ultimate Sin
Never been a huge Ozzy fan. It's a fine album but not really my style.
[UPDATE]
Changed my mind about this album and about Ozzy, I actually really like it. This album's got some filler in it, but I don't really care, it's a fun album with some pretty banger songs. | |
