Bucketheadland: Listener beware, enter if you dare. Yeah I know a few of these are gonna be too low but I'm guessing that's where the personal preference comes in. I'll go back and listen to a couple too see if they bump up any spots but I feel good about the order and it was a pretty strong year for the bucket, but the last 10 or so I definitely was feeling fatigue. 205.5 points out of a potential 300, divided by 60. Yearly Score: 3.42.
Odd that his slower, sadder stuff keeps coming up on top for me. Not sure why some of these have such low averages though. Calamity Cabin especially, and Miskatonic Scale should at least have 3.0's and The Mighty Microscope at a 3.9 is weird to me. Outpost, Hide in the Pickling Jar, and Polar Trench were all about average as well, in comparison.
Yeah, I'm giving it the best shot I can. I felt like going by year for the Pikes was the most reasonable way of doing it, and then maybe compiling the best 50 at the end or something. It's a lot at once and among his various styles it does still all blur together. Seems like there's not a huge fanbase for him on here anymore, which is too bad since I was pleasantly surprised by the consistency so far overall. 2015 does not look enjoyable however, I mean 118 albums c'mon man. Exercises in futility, but I probably would never hear a tenth of them if I wasn't going through the ranking to begin with.
