Shopping List
Saving up a bit to splurge at ye olde record shop next month; list will surely see a few additions by then, but here's what I got so far: |
| 1 | | Between the Buried and Me Automata II
Part I was a return-to-form for the band, which (ironically) benefited greatly from its brevity. Here's hoping II lives up, without undoing some of that praise. |
| 2 | | Deafheaven Ordinary Corrupt Human Love |
| 3 | | Night Verses From the Gallery of Sleep
Interesting to hear what this will sound like, what with some of the recent alterations in this band. First single was fire, though. |
| 4 | | Colin Stetson Hereditary
Pretty mesmerizing score for a pretty disappointing film. First half is stellar, second not so much. |
| 5 | | Cliff Martinez Game Night
Pretty mesmerizing score for a pretty surprisingly sharp film. (May have helped that this cost $1 at Redbox, while Hereditary was $12 at the box office, but I'm sticking with my takes here). |
| 6 | | Marisa Anderson Cloud Corner |
| 7 | | Zeal and Ardor Stranger Fruit
Not sure what my odds are of finding this at my local shop, but fingers firmly crossed. |
| 8 | | Hopesfall Arbiter
Very pleased with the news of this comeback, as well as the two singles so far. |
| 9 | | Drake Scorpion
Yeah, we'll see. |
| 10 | | Kamasi Washington Heaven And Earth |
| 11 | | Florence and the Machine High as Hope |
| 12 | | Snail Mail Lush
Being from Baltimore, have heard quite a lot of her on local radio stations of late, and am absolutely not complaining. |
| 13 | | Anthony Green Would You Still Be In Love |
| 14 | | Gorillaz The Now Now
A little suspect, if not outright disconcerting, that this is coming so soon on the heels of the somewhat overstuffed-in-its-own-right Humanz, but hey, let's give them the benefit of the doubt |
| 15 | | Wajatta Casual High Technology
Loves me some Reggie Watts, and the multi-song suite they played on a semi-recent Comedy Bang! Bang! podcast was bangin', so definitely intrigued by a full-length iteration of that. |
