06.14.18 | idc about anything outside of mezzanine but that album poops on each portishead individually |
BikerMcWheels
06.14.18 | Massive Attack are more intense and energizing, so I'd go with them. I think Tricky's debut buries them all. |
upintheair
06.14.18 | Portishead, for me. Dummy is one of my favorite albums of all time. |
DoofusWainwright
06.14.18 | Tricky’s debut is better than any Portishead or Massive Attack [2]
Dummy and Blue Lines are close though |
StallionMang
06.14.18 | idk maxinquaye had a couple shit songs on it, but the sultry/sinister atmosphere is my favorite out of any trip hop album |
upintheair
06.14.18 | "that album poops on each portishead individually"

06.15.18 | Portishead |
DoofusWainwright
06.15.18 | ‘Maxinquaye has a couple of shit songs’
Don’t hear it. Probably where someone is about to say something v dumb like ‘Black Steel’ or ‘Brand New You’re Retro’
Blue Lines, Protection and Mezzanine def have weaker songs. Dummy is consistent but not as varied as Maxinquaye. Portishead and Third have a couple of weaker tunes. |
Sinternet
06.15.18 | maxinquaye is nowhere near as consistent as mezzanine what |
Dewinged
06.15.18 | Team Portishead. But this is brutal. |
TheSpaceMan
06.15.18 | lotta people putting themselves in the open for me |
Amiracle94
01.07.19 | Both are essential trip-hop albums. Mezzanine has some awesome moments ("Angel," "Risingson," "Teardrop," "Inertia Creeps" and "Dissolved Girl" are all great) but Dummy just sucks you in with its cold and atmospheric beats and Beth Gibbons' haunting voice. Going with Dummy for this one. |
ArsMoriendi
01.07.19 | Dummy, but I have both 5'd |
