Fare Forward Voyagers (Soldier's Choice)
Okay guys, this. Is. It. The final recs. First up is Friv with “Fare Forward Voyagers,” a nifty instrumental folk opus made up of only 3 tracks. The songs are crafted with what you'd expect, an acoustic guitar and a man with a vision. Mr John Fahey plays with passion and precision here. Despite only being guitar, the album manages to go through a wide range of tones and moods. You’ll feel warm, you’ll feel tense, you may even feel energized, but you’ll never really feel bored.
Highlights: “When The Fire And The Rose Are” and “Fare Forward Voyagers”
Much like it’s competition, “Nihiloxia” is comprised of only a handful of songs. This time though it’s a very interesting blend of ugandan tribal music and techno electronic. A weird combo for sure, but a dope one indeed. The album hits hard and brings you your signature “untzs” but with a little bongo and east african percussion flavor. The record gets better as it goes on, starting pretty decent but becoming truly exceptional by it’s conclusion. Stay with this album to the end and i think you will feel rewarded.
Highlights: “Endongo” and “Kadodi”
