Awake
This one's a mixed bag and was always pretty weird. There's this dark, gloomy, twisted atmosphere to the album which gives it a pretty distinct sound - which is a pretty big change compared to their last album who had a very clear, very bright tone to it. It's not their best album, but is still a pretty good collection of songs and contains some of the finest moments in Dream Theater's history. My favorite is the immortal Scarred - what a weird and fantastic song. | | 2 |  | Green Day

The Division Bell
None of the songs really work for me; this is a significant downgrade from the previous album which I really loved. Not a bad album by any stretch of the imagination, and I do very much appreciate the unignorable presence of Richard Wright (which was missing last time), but still, I'm a bit disappointed. | |
