| | 1995 | | 1 | | Blind Guardian Imaginations from the Other Side
Blind Guardian were always a little weird to me. In the Power metal genre which was always considerd a more "mellow" and melody-driven subgenre, they've always been the heaviest and fastest. Hansi's vocals are both super rough and also super clean at the same time. Their music is complex and fascinating to listen to and there's never a dull moment. I was never able to completely appreciate their music, but I just cant help but fall in love with it. This album is a winner. A power metal classic from start to finish. | | 2 | | Down NOLA
This one's HEEAVVYYYY. There's not much else to say and there's not much else needed to be said. The riffs say it all.
Oh yeah, I also wanna mention A Change of Seasons which came out this year. Fantastic song. | | 3 | | Ozzy Osbourne Ozzmosis
This album's got some pretty big names attached to it, with Zakk Wylde, Geezer Butler and Rick Wakeman acting as Ozzy's band, and song-writing credits go to Lemmy Kilmister and Steve Vai among others. Sadly, none of them really make a noteworthy impact here, and overall it just sound like a rather typical Ozzy album - an enjoyable one, I guess, but the potential here is much bigger than that. | |
