04.23.18 | slam is a great genre. sput is very hypocritical with it's love of death metal and hatred of slam. the metalhead genre-purist hivemind and fear of anything different or being scorned by peers for listening to it pisses me off. I know that exec is about the only one around here that really checks it all because he doesn't care about all the 'sl4m sux d00d' comments.

04.23.18 | ____gets hate because it is a boring, monotonous genre that relies on gimmicks and extremity to compensate for the fact that (most) bands in the genre are tepid, uninspired, and can't write a proper song to save their lives. literally 95% of the bands all sound the same.
insert any metal genre there, you're a total hypocrite my dude. death metal for example, fits that description exactly, more so than slam even. I love death metal but it's probably the most monotonous and same-y genre that exists. how much slam have you heard to make that judgement? I know it's less than exec. and spirit is right, slam is the grooviest. much better than Meshuggah djent stuff. check out that Parasitic Ejaculation album darius you might like it |

I don't think it's fair to write the whole genre off because there's plenty of bad albums within it because that's normal with metal. you don't have to change your mind of course, have whatever opinions you want. it's certainly not a genre for everyone. |
