900 Ratings Later

I've been here since 2007 -- finally hit 900. Here is the last 20 albums I rated, #1 being recent and going backwards.
1Nord Frost
Solstitium

3.5/5 - It was cool -- no vocals. Gotta check out the other one. Really enjoyed the mix.
2Echoes of the Moon
Entropy

3/5 - Good stuff overall, but nothing stood out about the writing or performances to make it terribly memorable other than general amusement.
3Dzo-nga
The Sachem's Tales

2/5 - Album and album art is pretty lackluster.
4Peste Noire
La Chaise-Dyable

3.5/5 - There are some really fantastic moments and guitar work on here. The vocals can be grating at time. Oh, and chickens.
5Obsequiae
Aria of Vernal Tombs

3/5 - Clean sections are better than the metal sections. Worth multiple re-listens, but I dont see it ever topping 10 times total.
6Enisum
Arpitanian Lands

3/5 - There are some really great sections in here that almost make it a 3.5, but the album can drag at times. OH and those clean vocals are so corny.
7Woods of Desolation
Toward the Depths

4/5 - Definitely the best effort by WOD that I have heard, ending with the very strong self-titled song. A definite must check out for fans of BM that like catchy riffs and poppier song structures.
8Wodensthrone
Curse

1.5/5 - One of the most boring albums I have listened to in a long time. Not even worth a re-listen.
9Spectral Lore
Gnosis

3/5 - Top notch album art, and the music is really good too. It hasn't had any wow moments for me yet, and a lot of it can be a tad on the repetitive side. Too long for too little material, especially on an EP. Still worth a solid listen though.
10Aquilus
Griseus

4.5/5 - Top notch album, blending solid vocal performances with proper classical composition and song structure. I can't recommend this album enough to individuals who enjoy modern BM.
11Woods of Desolation
Sorh

3/5 - Yeah, its cool I guess. It's WOD, but definitely not their best work.
12Deafheaven
Sunbather

4.5/5 - Absolutely exquisite and breathtaking album. Future contender for the 5/5 slot. The closer, The Pecan Tree, is worth a full listen by itself.
13Violet Cold
Anomie

3/5 - I thought the middle-eastern tinges were cute and worth exploring, I need to give this more future listens.
14Emyn Muil
Túrin Turambar Dagnir Glaurunga

2/5 - I would rather listen to Caladan or Summoning.
15Falls of Rauros
The Light That Dwells in Rotten Wood

3/5 - Great potential with minimal follow through. I felt as if the material was too samey throughout.
16Woods of Desolation
Torn Beyond Reason

2.5/5 - Sophomore slump.
17Woods of Desolation
As the Stars

3.5/5 - Starts on a fantastic note. First 2 songs are the best on the album, especially #2, but the B-side of the album doesn't have the same impact as the A-side.
18Wodensthrone
Loss

3/5 - much better than their other effort, with a much better album cover. Enjoyed multiple re-listens, but its not very deep.
19Ellende
Todbringer

4/5 - Really strong album from a band I had never heard of. Very tight performances and mix overall. Solid rec.
20Emyn Muil
Elenion Ancalima

2.5/5 - Better than their first outing, but not by a lot.
