03.27.18 | 1 and 2 are correct. |
Assemblage
03.27.18 | It sucks this list is pretty much in discography order. |
drasticaction74
03.28.18 | accurate af, my 1 and 3 are switched tho |
artiswar
03.28.18 | List sucks. |
nola1
03.28.18 | gonna be controversial and say that 4 should be 1 |
InFlamesWeThrash666
03.28.18 | The first 4 are the first 4 so list is cool |
Assemblage
03.30.18 | Eh, this is vastly different than when I first started listening to the band. I used to have Clayman first because I liked the more accessible appeal without realizing it, and I wasn't too big into Colony except for a couple songs because I thought the pacing was too slow compared to Whoracle and I didn't think it had a whole lot of variation. Thinking of doing a variant to this list actually, since this ranking is about as safe as it comes imo |
parksungjoon
03.30.18 | 7 and 9 are both top 6 actually |
parksungjoon
03.30.18 | 7 might be like their 4th best actually |
Doctuses
03.30.18 | only ever listened to 3 it was p good, worth hitting up the others? |
Assemblage
03.30.18 | Also, does anyone know what other album cover 12 looks like? I know I've seen another album by another band that looks similar and it's killing me. |
Assemblage
03.30.18 | @Doctuses, I'd say definitely Whoracle if you dug 3 as it's the closest to that but spacier and a little thrashier |
Assemblage
03.30.18 | List sucks [3] |
parksungjoon
03.30.18 | whroacle thrashier???
it barely has any trems on it S: |
Doctuses
03.30.18 | will do |
Assemblage
03.31.18 | whroacle thrashier???
Yeah I mean, it's more aggressive so... that was the first that I came up with it lol. |
parksungjoon
03.31.18 | iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii dunno that i agree with that man but its ok |
Doctuses
03.31.18 | rank some GRIND baby |
parksungjoon
03.31.18 | doctuses do u know wormrot? |
Doctuses
03.31.18 | yea, it's cool not my fave a little too clean but yes |
Doctuses
03.31.18 | Park you like grid link ? |
parksungjoon
03.31.18 | havent given em a thorough listen but i remember liking what little i heard |
Doctuses
03.31.18 | Longhena is a jam. It’s a fresh take on grind. |
Doctuses
03.31.18 | It does register on the trendy scale though |
McNamara
03.31.18 | Top 4 is all that matters and I agree with it. After that, it's all a hazy mystery. Though I'd put Playground Fading higher on the list. Probably the best thing they did after Clayman. "A New Dawn" is a classic. |
parksungjoon
03.31.18 | "Top 4 is all that matters"
my dude trust me check lunar strain and subterranean theyre really good |
McNamara
03.31.18 | True, I enjoy both of them. I just don't go back to them the way I do everything from Jester Race to Clayman. |
Dedes
03.31.18 | If only the top 4 matters then where is Come Clarity? |
parksungjoon
03.31.18 | sitting at a solid 2.5/5 dede |
McNamara
03.31.18 | For me, after Clayman, it's Playground, Come Clarity, Reroute....I even like Soundtrack and A Sense of Purpose. But Playground has a certain vibe to it that I love. So I really enjoyed everything In Flames put out up until Siren Charms. The last two albums weren't worthy of more than 1 listen. |
artiswar
03.31.18 | props for putting ASOP over SOAPF. ASOP is just better, although Sober And Irrelevant is one of the worst songs on it, weird pick there. |
Assemblage
04.07.18 | Yeah I can see how Sober and Irrelevant has a skip over quality to it but I just love that tempo for them for the chorus. But really though the bonus tracks are probably the best, sucks they were cut.
As far as the Whoracle thing, idk I really don't see it being too much of a stretch to say it has a harder edge to me with songs like Morphing Into Primal, Episode 666 and Food for the Gods where I feel those elements mixed with Anders' vocals mesh so well throughout and give the songs that much more of an attack. |
Space Jester
04.07.18 | Colony is really overrated, best song on it is Behind Space and they borrowed that from Lunar Strain. Jester Race and Whoracle are tops |
Assemblage
04.07.18 | You just can't listen to Behind Space without cranking it uppp. |
Space Jester
04.07.18 | Behind Space rules but the rest of Colony bores me, it was their quiets first step into more accessible territory |
Source
04.07.18 | I agree colony is overrated. Clayman was an improvement imo |
Space Jester
04.07.18 | What if I told you STYE was my third |
Source
04.07.18 | Were you wearing morpheus sunglasses when you typed that? |
Space Jester
04.07.18 | If that’s what you want |
siren
04.07.18 | "I agree colony is overrated."
I'm curious as to why? |
Source
04.07.18 | It just kind of seemed like they were on autopilot with that album imo. |
Space Jester
04.07.18 | Yea kinda, and cut out even more of the things that made the previous albums interesting like tempo changes and more diverse drumming |
Assemblage
04.07.18 | I can see the autopilot perpective to Colony but it kind of gives it a neat vibe to me now oddly. |
Assemblage
04.07.18 | From Jester to Clarity the albums in all are varied enough that they can really fit any sorta mood you're going for which is why I kinda want to do another ranking... |
Assemblage
04.07.18 | I mean even ASOP can even have its "moments" but that's where it really starts to wear thin by the end of it. |
siren
04.07.18 | > It just kind of seemed like they were on autopilot with that album imo.
Hmm, that makes some sense. I guess there is where subjective taste jumps in. |
Casavir
04.07.18 | Subterranean is too low. As is Lunar Strain. |
MarsKid
04.07.18 | Come Clarity >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Reroute |
siren
04.07.18 | [2] |
Madbutcher3
04.07.18 | 11 i would have above 8 and 10 at least |
JDubb
04.30.18 | No. 4, Clayman, is my favorite. But Sounds of a Playground Fading and A Sense of Purpose are my next. |
