Took a rare trip into Manhattan tonight to see OMD live with GGOOLLDD opening at a packed Terminal 5.

Pretty enjoyable band. Found them to be less synth-pop and more rock than expected. They had some strong moments, and were visually pretty interesting as well.

I liked their 2017 album "The Punishment of Luxury". They played quite a few numbers off of this album, and for an '80s band whose crowd you know were there to hear their favorite songs from back in the day, the new material went over pretty well. Nevertheless...

The Best of O.M.D.


There was a ton of energy in the room tonight, and it was mostly for their better known hits. My highlight was "Tesla Girls", which for me is a quintessential '80s pop song. Their closing song of the night, "Electricity", was also a highlight. They played for nearly a full two hours in all. It was a very good show.
