artiswar
03.03.18 | my bad, I meant Blood. you already did Crash |
GreyShadow
03.03.18 | I delayed Blood because my opinion on it changed pretty drastically throughout the course of last year. I'll get it out in the near future though |
bgillesp
03.03.18 | I once drove 4.5 hours one way to see Devin Townsend Project do a 45 minute opener set |
bgillesp
03.03.18 | Totally worth it for me, tickets and gas weren't too bad, and you could probably find a hostel for the night to save a bunch too |
ConcubinaryCode
03.03.18 | I'm going to London to see the cure in July. Before that I flew to see them in Denver. I'm in Ohio for reference. |
artiswar
03.03.18 | @Grey for better or worse?
and to answer your question, I once did a 6+ hour drive across provinces to see Napalm Death, Carcass and Suffocation. It was well worth it but I never again attempted anything so ambitious. |
Sevengill
03.03.18 | I'm flying from Boston to Glasgow, Scotland to see Saor and Sojourner's double-headlining set in April, with a quick stop in Iceland. Gonna be fun. |
DominionMM1
03.03.18 | flown all over the country to see neurosis. baltimore was the furthest city (1600 miles) that i've traveled to for one of their shows.
and yes every trip was well worth it. none of them were too expensive; airfare can be cheap and airbnb is a godsend. |
MyShadow
03.03.18 | def though the title was gonna be 'How far is the furthest you traveled for pussy' |
TwigTW
03.03.18 | 7 hours by train (each way) to see Pink Floyd--totally worth it |
MyShadow
03.03.18 | my actual answer is london from sheffield lmao |
Sevengill
03.03.18 | probs like a ten minute walk for pussy. live music is incomparably better. |
Sinternet
03.03.18 | literally never been to a gig outside my hometown, trains are too expensive and slow for me to justify it. Would go to festivals but none of my friends really like them and i aint going alone. |
GreyShadow
03.03.18 | just added 10 to the list and loved it which is just another reason for me to go.
The trip + tickets ends up being around $800-$900 which isn't surprising but I have never spent that much on a concert (festival in this case)...or really any source of entertainment all at once. Apparently they allow for tents/camping which saves me the cost of a hotel. I'd probably be traveling solo because none of my friends would spend this much on something like this.
gahh someone help me out |
TheGreatQ
03.03.18 | 500 miles to see White Lies and then spent a third of the show dying in the bathroom from food poisoning. |
TheSpaceMan
03.03.18 | No because Bristol is probably dope |
Sevengill
03.03.18 | @TheGreatQ fuck man, what a bummer. I liked White Lies' debut. |
teamster
03.03.18 | Drove 6 hours to see Rosetta ... |
Masochist
03.03.18 | I've driven 350 miles for concerts before, that's about the farthest I've gone. But I know people who have flown from here (Austin, TX) to San Francisco specifically to catch Temple of the Dog, and one of those guys is going to fly to Japan to catch Nine Inch Nails.
Also, people routinely go overseas for music festivals and such all the time (I can't tell you how many people come from overseas here to Austin just for SXSW or Austin City Limits), so your trip isn't out of the ordinary. |
RogueNine
03.04.18 | Three hours, ha. Nothing crazy. |
TheSpaceMan
03.04.18 | Anal |
TheSpaceMan
03.04.18 | Oops sorry misread list title |
Divaman
03.04.18 | 6-8 hours. I'm spoiled living in the New York/metro area -- most of what I want to see comes reasonably close to my door, although there are times when I'll choose to go Atlantic City or one of the casinos in Connecticut rather than deal with getting into and around Manhattan. |
OllieS
04.02.18 | Bristol is a great city, especially in the summer |
BigBlob
04.02.18 | I went to Berlin twice for Rammstein concerts. (from Scotland). i did go to new york to see another gig but that wasn't originally planned |
Zeuzo
04.02.18 | Tool - From Poland to Toronto |
cold
04.02.18 | From Virginia to Ohio, hair metal fest |
DungeonBoy
04.02.18 | Drove 8 hours (16 round trip) to go to a Cake concert that my good friend really wanted to see and wanted a partner in crime |
