RIP A Lot Like Birds - Top 10 Songs

This was surprising just because the band posts on social media relatively often and they like just finished supporting Emorosa. it's a shame because Divisi had a lot of great stuff going for it but alas At their prime these were some of the craziest guys in the game that still had some gorgeous melodies.

Tantrum - this song is just so big. The melody that it builds into is beautiful and i just love getting lost in it all.
9A Lot Like Birds
No Place

Recluse - this song is probably the most batshit thing in their discography. One of the best examples of what these guys are about.
8A Lot Like Birds
DIVISI

Further Below - AKA where Divisi goes from good to incredible. This song gives us a sick groove to work with and the end is a great sing-a-long.
7A Lot Like Birds
No Place

Connector - It's Connector by A Lot Like Birds. Is there any more to say? Yano, no idea how that became a meme but this song is a trip. JUST STAY OUT OF THE WAYYYYYYYAYAYYAYAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
6A Lot Like Birds
DIVISI

Good Soul Bad Seeds - I love the tone of this song and the ending chant is just another damn nice sounding moment in this band's catalog.
5A Lot Like Birds
No Place

No Nurture - the "fuck you dad" message is an obvious plus but that aside, this song is one of the most unique. Listening to this album for the first time No Nature was great but then this song came out of nowhere. The beginning is beautiful but then towards the end Cory just kinda does what he does best and I love every second of it.
4A Lot Like Birds

Vanity's Fair - this song is so fucking fun. everything about it. you just move and groove with it and it's great. I think this is the song that made me love these guys because it showcased their versatility. A must jam.
3A Lot Like Birds
No Place

Hand over Mouth, Over and Over - this song tugs at the heartstrings more than any other song they've made. From the dreamy "ooo's" at the start to the emotional release of a conclusion. Possibly Kurt's best performance in this band too. "and if I didn't love you then, I love you now. but it's easy to love something when there's pain its eyes" fuck. Possibly their best song.
2A Lot Like Birds
DIVISI

DIVISI - the crowning conclusion of their Discography. It brings everything together and we even get some harsher vocals on this relatively tame record. "Don't we all arrive at the same place where we began?" will forever echo in my head when thinking of these guys.

THINK DIRTY OUT LOUD - This song is my favorite from the birds. Cory and Kurt always work so well with each other but this is the song that showcases that better than any other. Whenever I want to hear some insane melodic new age post-hardcore swancore (whatever you kids wanna call it) this is a go-to. There really isn't much to say, it's just a perfect barrage of excellence. If I'm not mistaken this is the first song released when Kurt was added to the band and they could not have picked a better choice. "I've spiked both our drinks with a gallon of ink and now I'm writing a novel from your insides". RIP you insane motherfuckers.
