Worst week ever.

Wow. What a week. My younger brother went to the ER and is getting emergency surgery tomorrow. He lives under me because I built a studio apartment for him to move into because he needed treatment options in my state and needed a place to live. His howls of pain were pretty unnerving, I don't think they'll ever leave my head. My in-laws are having sever marital problems and somehow my wife and I are stuck in the middle of it. I had some insane deadlines on projects at work that I just barely got done but I hauled 12 hour days all week on top of trying to mediate between my brother and my parents because he was depressed and only talking to me, so I had to coax him into talking with doctors and my parents about treatment options while I was trying to wire a house from start to finish in a day. Glad it's the weekend. I'm working on new material, it's a good outlet for me. For now, have some of my old music. + digs
1Stampede to Timberline
a Sad Song in a Major Key

My most recent release. I finished this over the summer while I was unemployed. It's a slow burner and I recorded it all on an old cassette multi-track. I used lots of tape loops.

Check it if you want:

2Stampede to Timberline
You Were my Coldest Season

Still one of my personal favorite releases of mine. I listen to it when I'm sad so it's been spinning a lot in my head this week.
3Stampede to Timberline
Tribulation

My first album. Not sure how I feel about it these days lol. I recorded it on an MP3 player and mixed it in Audacity though, so I guess I didn't have much to work with anyway.
4Mark Kozelek & Jimmy Lavalle
Perils from the Sea

I'm really enjoying this right now. it hits the spot.
5Horseback
The Invisible Mountain

Hatecloud is one of my all-time favorites for times like this. Brooding, exhaustive, and painful, it feeds well.
6Fuck Buttons
Tarot Sport

Infinite enjoyment out of this gem.
7Xenia Rubinos
Magic Trix

Hair receding is a rad little track. Super ambitious.
8Emma Ruth Rundle
Marked For Death

This has consistently been one of my favorite albums for quite the long time now. It is exactly what I always want to hear. Hand of God is so so so good.
916 Horsepower
Secret South

Ultimate classic material. If you haven't listened to this yet, do yourself a favor and listen to it.
10Slint
Slint

Beautiful EP.
11Wife
Stoic

If I recall correctly this guy was in Altar of Plagues, which would be a good reason for explaining why I love this so much.
12Oxbow
Thin Black Duke

What an album. I'm so glad they returned in this form.
13Midwife (USA)
Like Author, Like Daughter

I'm really really enjoying this one. Makes me proud to be from Denver.
