Oceanborn
Abandoning the Folk Metal elements on "Angels Fall First" and experimenting with a more Power Metal-oriented sound was definitely a step in the right direction. | | 4 |  | Nightwish
Century Child
Some say this album has the best drumming of all Nightwish albums, and I can see why they say that. I also find the riffing and basslines to be superior to those on previous albums, and Tarja's vocals have more beauty and emotion this time around. | | 3 |  | Nightwish

Dark Passion Play
I personally think that this has the best instrumentation of all Nightwish albums (it's arguably their most riff based album and in my opinion, has their best riffs). It was also nice to hear nothing but non-operatic vocals from the main vocalist for a change. | |
