He probably doesn't even know that he's dying but I bet he's still appreciating every moment with you. It's going to hurt like hell when he's gone but eventually the memories of him will cause you more joy than pain.

GmemberKills 12.04.17	honestly just try to reflect on the good life you gave your dog. So many dogs face daily abuse, or rot in shelters only to get put down way before their short time is up. Your dog was lucky to get someone who truly cares about it. i know you probably don't wanna hear it, but don't be afraid to adopt another animal sooner than later either. you can't replace the memories you made with it, but you can easily create new ones that will be just as meaningful to you. It'd be a shame for another animal in need not to find it's way to a truly good home.

I hope your dog has a nice last few days and thank you for being such a good owner to him or her during their life, that is all they could ask for (well ... if they could talk). Just remember that they had a good life, that's all you can really do when it comes to this stuff.
