Rodrigo's beginner guide to Yu-gi-oh! pt, 1.

Don't know how many of the users are dedicated otakus or know the anime or the card game, but I always find productive to teach the basics of the game (that's why I'm studying Englissh TEACHING) so here we go: Note: I'm explaining the classic way of playing it not the new approaches that the last anime shows (lost the trace of the anime after GX)
1The Mars Volta
De-Loused in the Comatorium

Ok so the field has 14 spaces for each player: 5 spaces for monsters and 5 for magic cards and traps. The deck, the graveyard, the fusion deck (which is a space reserved for fusion monsters) and the space for field cards.
2The Mars Volta
Frances the Mute

The monsters can be: normal monsters, effect monsters, ritual monsters or fusion monsters. Monsters with 1-4 stars requires no sacrifices to be summon on the field. Monsters with 5-6 stars requires 1 tribute monster to be summon and 7 and beyond stars 2 monsters are required to be summon (except special monsters such us the Egyptian Gods). Exodia is a special case in which the only way to summon it is having the 5 parts on your hand and you get instant win. Effect monsters has special effects which can be used while they're on the field or on your hand (such us kuriboh). Ritual monsters requires a tribute card (which is a magic Card) and you need to send to the graveyard a number of monsters equivalent to the number of stars of the ritual monster from either your hand or on the field. Fusion monsters needs the card polymerization or fusion gate and they need specific monsters to be fusion which are named in the fusion card.
3The Mars Volta
Amputechture

There are card traps and magic cards. Normally magic cards can be activated in any moment of the player's turn while traps can only be activated when a specific action happens for example the other player is attacking us and we have a trap that protect us from the attack then we activated it. And this is the first part because I'm tired of typing.
