Songs Under 3 Minutes Rec Contest

Simple enough, rec me a song that's under 3 minutes . Ill take 30 submissions and if I score your song below a 3.5 you're out! (Scale is 0-5) Nothing I have already heard (obviously)

Laid

UniqueUniverse
Laid
Timid, enjoyable and rather catchy, a 90's jam I have not heard but feel as though I should have because it seems pleasant enough to have gained some popularity. Anyhow, this just makes the cut.

New Alhambra

brainmelter
Thou Shall Not Murder
Sort of reminds of Bright Eyes and its nice enough with the lackadaisical approach that suits the lyrics and attitude of the track. Unfortunately, however, its length is its undoing and makes it a bit unmemorable.

Journal For Plague Lovers

TVC15
Jackie Collins Existential Crisis Time
The riff in this got a bit boring and I can't help but feel a bit jipped considering the track takes almost its enirety to get my attention at the 1:45 mark of a 2:24 track. If the entire track had that kind of energy this would have done the trick.

Pretty damn fun, plus who can deny that I'm a sucker for some guitar solos that rip me a new one?

Dylan620
I Am a Scientist
This kinda bored me if I'm being honest and the vocals did little to nothing for me. I just didn't feel much connection to this track in general, maybe its just a personal disconnect.

Right up my alley and man I gotta dedicate some time to Touche Amore. Fits right alongside the likes of my favorite songs from La Dispute and Pianos Become the Teeth.

7O'Brother
Garden Window

Sputnik
Not my usual type of post hardcore but I'd be hard pressed to say I didn't really enjoy this one any how.
4/5
8Bloodbath
Nightmares Made Flesh

BlackwaterPork
Bastard Son of God
Found the screams on this extremelyyyyy one dimensional and sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't but for me it just didnt do it this time. However, the instrumentals were pretty crazy and kept me entertained enough to warrant this making the cut.
3.5/5
9Shokran
Supreme Truth

SteakByrnes
Charon
Thought this was gunna be a sorta generic metalcore track when it first started but once the clean vocals came in and the proggy elements came more into play I found myself really enjoying it.
3.8/5
10DJ Shadow
The Private Press

Laeddis
Walkie Talkie
God I didn't want this track to end the samples and overall grungy edge that beat has on this rips through the track like a chainsaw (coincedentally shown in the music video). Will definitely be checking out DJ Shadow finally after this one.
4.2/5
11Chief Keef

luvmycutters
Come On Now
The backing beat and elements layered in the back of this track are interesting but they don't really change up enough to retain my interest. This is an example of one of the tracks where Chief Keef's delivery does little to nothing for me as well.

The Swell Season
This is just a perfectly composed song that tugs at the heart strings in all the best ways without ever needing to say a word.
4.8/5
13Anthrax
Persistence of Time

Dewinged
Got the Time
GOD DAMN that bass line bumpssss. Although this can be a bit repetitive that is sort of a trope of the thrash genre and I still really enjoyed this.

Mm.. Food

Prancer
Rapp Snitch Knishes
This is so so so sick. Great rap flow, sweet guitar riff and bass line to boot.

Surprised I didn't dig this more considering its genre tags but the vocals kinda bored me on this and the riff got kinda boring.

Drifter
Kissed By A Roach From The Grave
A beautiful mathy lil' emo rec with a melody that will calm you to sleep in the best way possible with its twinkly and airy guitar tones that lull all the stress of the day away.
4.2/5
17Alkaline Trio
Goddamnit

onionbubs
Cringe
Definitely a tune for fans of blink-182 and pop punk bands of the like. This was a ton of fun loaded with energy and great vocals. Plus a bouncing and frenetic bass line that grooves the track at hyperspeed.
4.5/5
18His Hero is Gone
Monuments to Thieves

CaimanJesus
Like Weeds
At first I thought I was going to be toning it down after that last rec, boy was a wrong. Tricking you with its sludgy beginning this track quickly flip on its own ass and kicks yours while its at it.
4/5
19The Shangri-Las
Leader of the Pack

Cygnatti
Give Him a Great Big Kiss
This was supposed to be light hearteded and joyful, I get that. However, I found it incredibly cheesy and it made me want to punch something. That talking segment was dreadful and I think my eyes rolled back into my head for a moment. I wasn't sure they'd return...

Now this is much better. Lovely vocals and a heartfelt delivery with some light piano that does its job simply and with grace.

Nice old school Rock/Metal track with a classy vintage production and a nice solo to boot.

Vempire or Dark Fairytales in Phallustei

Donchivo
Ebony Dressed for Sunset
Damn this was really good, hadn't really dug into cradle of filth but this bangs. I wish they cut out that god awful talking segment though cause it doesn't really fit. However, sweet drum work, riffs and I even really dug the vocals.
3.9/5
23Bad Rabbits
American Nightmare

DinosaurJones
Faceless
This track is really refreshing honestly. Interesting bass tone, soulful vocals and some excellent guitar melodies in the mix. Plus the drum fills on this towards the end are super satisfying.
4.1/5
24Primal Scream
Crystal Crescent

sixdegrees
Velocity Girl
Hmm this was a rather interesting one, the guitar tones on this one have a unique psych edge to it. Though the vocals definitely sounds like the 80's the instrumentation is odd and fresh still which makes this for a rather entertaining rec.
3.8/5

AsleepInTheBack
Winky Face: The Mark of a Moron
Holy shit this was a load of fun. This track does it exactly what it aims to do, which is being flat out agressive, zany and just outright being a push-pit initiating hardcore jam. There's no way in hell I wouldn't love this one.
4.5/5
26Arkona (RUS)
Goi, Rode, Goi!

***ROUND WINNER!***
SCREAM!
Yarilo
Whoa, this is something really really interesting. This track is all over the place in the best way possible and I never lost interest even for a moment. Crazy technical guitar melodies, excellent drum work, bumping bass lines and I believe I'm hearing accordion? Damn, this was a wild ride and I loved every second. Even the Russian vocals were a treat. If someone tops the sheer stand out nature of this track I'll be surprised.
