rrr11: Fix My Ratings

1Typhoon (USA-OR)

Btw the rules are pick one of these albums on the top 200 chart I have rated below a 4. You will be graded on how much I bump the rating upon relistening. I have listened to none of these more than twice and all of these ratings are at least from 6+ months ago so I don't remember the album well for any.
36 chambers-3
Crimson King-3.5
Downward spiral-3
All things must pass-3.5
Don't break the oath-3
The mantle-3.5
White pony-3
Choirs of the Eye-3.5
Soundtracks for the Blind-3
2King Crimson
In the Court of the Crimson King

Well, I have no idea what was wrong with me the first couple times I tried this out. Maybe I had some hipster complex about not wanting to like what everyone called the best prog or something. Maybe the versions I had haphazardly pieced together on youtube were just poor recordings. In any case, this thing is, as its reputation holds, a true prog masterpiece and it is perfectly clear how it would have had a major influence on the music world. New Rating: 4.5, Growth: +1.0

Score: 16.5
The Mantle

YYYYAAAAAAAWWWWWWWNNNNNNNN. Boy am I tired. This album puts me to sleep, and not in a good way. Agalloch is one of the most boring BM bands I've ever had the pleasure of listening to, and I don't see what is so special about them. That being said, the atmosphere they create is good and their musicianship and writing are too. New Rating: 3.5, Growth: +0.0

Score: 9.5
4My Bloody Valentine

Holy Fuzzballs, this thing is a chore to listen to. I listened to it a few more times for this round, and I can say that: 1. It has grown on me, and 2. I am beginning to understand its influence. However, despite its revolutionary sound and influence, I fail to see how anyone could think these songs are well-written. The transitions between tracks are downright poor, and the songs themselves are nothing special. The production, even for its goal, I don't view as a positive either. The only thing important about this album to me is that it spawned a successful genre of well-respected music. New Rating: 3.3, Growth: +0.3

Score: 21
