Hollywood Undead - Five - Track-by-track

Overall a solid album. It definitely starts stronger than it ends. 4/5
1Hollywood Undead
Five

California Dreaming - Amazing start to the album. The riff is probably the best they've ever done and the energy in the vocals seeps trough and hypes me right up. I've been jamming this track since it dropped back in July. 5/5

Whatever It Takes - Definitely not as good as the previous track but still a damn fun song. The lyrics are pretty bad but it's just so damn catchy. 4/5

Bad Moon - A definite departure from the tone and sound that the singles set for this album, but god damn this song is awesome. This is a much "poppier" track compared to the first two, with an artificial instrumental and some definite use of auto tune on Charlie Scene's vocals, but it works here. Love this song. 5/5

Ghost Beach - Even more "poppy" than Bad Moon, but this is a shining example of why I love Danny's voice. He just nails emotion and his vocals just suck you into this track. While usually his lyrics aren't great, but here he certainly shines. Up there with Pour Me and Believe for some of the best slower, melodic tracks they've released. 4/5

Broken Record - Another highlight. I love the flow of Charlie's verse opening the song, transitioning into this depressing chorus sung by Charlie and Danny whose vocals harmonize perfectly. Reminds me of Dark Places in that it's catchy and somewhat upbeat but depressing at the same time. 5/5

Nobody's Watching - Am I the only one who is reminded of Linkin Park's "Good Goodbye" by this song? Of course I like this song MUCH more than that song. Another shining example of Danny's amazing vocals. His lyrics are NOT good by any means, but when he sounds this good, it doesn't matter. J-Dog sings the verses and as always, he's great, but the real highlight is the pre-chorus sung by Danny. It's extremely poppy but god damn does he just nail it. 5/5

Renegade - Back to the heavy shit. Renegade is a badass track. Johnny 3 Tears steals the track with his absolutely badass verse referencing Day Of The Dead (song) by saying "hold your holy ghost now". Not the best on the album but a fucking fun song to jam to, and god damn that break down at the end is phenomenal. 4/5

Black Cadillac (Feat. B-Real) - And here's where shit gets bad. Black Cadillac is certainly reminiscent of "Guzzle, Guzzle" from Day Of The Dead, and that's not good. An absolutely awful party song. The chorus sung by Funny Man is so underwhelming and boring it's borderline comedy. And need I mention B-Real's feature here? He manages to ruin an already bad song. That deserves some kind of reward. 1/5

Pray (Put Em In The Dirt) - JOHNNY MOTHER FUCKING 3 TEARS!! Fucking incredible track. The pre-chorus J3T sings is some of my favorite lyrics they've ever out out. This is by far my favorite song on the album. I can't explain how amazing Johnny is here. 5/5

Cashed Out - Another bad one. Cashed Out is terrible. Poor Funny Man, he opens the track with some of the worst lyrics ever. While the instrumental is solid, the rapping is so uninteresting and uninspired it bores me. And the chorus sounds like something 2 Chainz would put out. Not worse than Black Cadillac but still bad. 1/5

Riot - Good god what were they thinking. Ohh yes, a dubstep song. Need I say more? 1/5

We Own The Night - Another great heavy single. We Own The Night starts with Johnny once again nailing his verse along with J-Dog. The chorus is catchy and of course, Danny sounds great. 5/5

Bang Bang - No not Green Day's "Bang Bang". This song is just alright. It's got a great riff but for the most part, it's a little boring. I love Danny's part though. 3/5

Your Life - The album closes on another pretty meh track. It's not bad but it's not memorable like Pray or We Own The Night. Unfortunately HU continues their trend of underwhelming album closers. Not bad but not amazing either. 2/5
