*ROUND 3* Super Sonic Electronic Tourney

Down to 8 users. Great recs last round and hopefully this round runs a little smoother.

For An Angel

Kickin it off with some spunk. Then after like 30 seconds it brings the cheese. The cheesiness kind of warps into an atmosphering swirl of some sharp cheddar though which is a dank ass cheese. Things start to get progressive as arps enter the picture and some sonic filtering enhances the dynamic of the track. It resolves with the main progression pretty predictably. I thought the track could have explored more of the progressive elements in the middle but overall not too shabby. 3.3/5

Gaia - Tuvan

Starts off with a build that travels into some really cool heavily processed choral vocals that really grabbed me. Things slow down only to build up with a nice arpeggiation that evolves into many different forms over the course of its passage. Then... What's this? Another build? What are they trying to build?! A pretty substantive trance track that's what. 3.8/5

Rave Voyeur

Starts off with a really pitter patter kind of arp synth that creates some really cool texture. Some really tasteful synth bends and stabs enter into the mix before another really cool percussive pan flute sounding instrument joins in with the punchy arp making another appearance. About halfway through I realized there wouldn't be any kicks coming in and by then I also realized that they weren't necessary. There is a lot going on in this track and anything extra may have intruded a bit too much in the mix. This was a pretty wild and enjoyable ride. 4/5

Scary Boubles

A deep bassy warble becomes the backing of a punchy kick while a ton of automations and percussive booms create an otherworldly uncertainty of atmosphere. Things start to pick up and warp before dissolving into the distance and the track seems to really take shape from there. Synth hooks start to peak through the dense atmosphere before an explosion of trancey synths steer the track out of oblivion and back on course to the mother planet. This round is really bringing out the corniness in my descriptions. This was actually really cool though and a welcomed change of pace. 3.8/5

Overlap

An upbeat drum pattern sets the tone of this one as some uplifting chords become the backdrop for a pretty melody to dance on. A light atmosphere fills the spaces and memories of a clear sunny day come to mind. I thought the cover art pretty aptly fit the music on this track. 3.6/4

Softpretty

Some soft and pretty dream trance here that incorporates some soft and pretty vocals. The drums were pretty punchy through the soft and pretty atmospheres and there were some steel drum sounding melodies that flourished. Overall I thought the song could most easily be described with a couple of words: soft and pretty. softandpretty/5 3.6/5

Nicrophorus - Anna's Travel On Cloud

This seemed to kind of pick up where Zolog left off except now they are going at warp speed. I knew what this was going to sound like going in because I'd heard someone play something in DT. However, I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. There was a lot of variation here and some really stand out moments like the transition about 5 minutes in going into a really wacked out section with some breaks even thrown in for good measure. Another pretty wild ride here. 3.8/5

Silence

First got acquainted with Delirium with Semantic Spaces and really enjoyed that record. With this being next in succession I was really hoping to enjoy this. Sarah Mclachlan seemed like a strange feature in some ways but I thought she complimented the track really well. This isn't nearly as trance oriented as the other recs here which is probably why I enjoyed it more. It had everything I liked about Semantic Spaces. Lush atmosphere with some hopeful tones over a hint of esoteric and darkness and some really great vocal work. A really good track here. 4.2/5
