Rec Roulette Round 10: Mr. Worldwide

Do we still need descriptions?
1Batushka
Litourgiya

A multilingual non-english album. It doesn't matter how many times it uses one of the languages, even if it's just one song, it still counts. But it needs to have 2 or more language uses. But not a drop of english!
2Balkan Beat Box
Balkan Beat Box

gypsy russian new yorker
This album's tags are funk, folk and electronic. That could only mean two things, it'll either be interesting at the very least, or it will be an utter disaster. Well, this was a disaster, but an interesting one. It's mostly beyond obnoxious and boring, but the combination of so many odd, off-the-wall and kooky elements are bound to create something intriguing. I finished it, because I was curious what else there is to it. I will not be returning to it, though. Guess it means I'm retarded. 2.4/5
3Deathspell Omega
Si Monvmentvm Reqvires Circvmspice

typical boring mountaineer
Kinda sounds like it has english in it, but then again, it might be just the growls playing tricks on my ears. I've never really been a huge Deathspell Omega fan, but I could at least appreciate the ambition behind it. It's mostly their flat sound that bothered me and their vocals never gripped me either. And this album is pretty much just like that, a mixed bag of this and that. The vocals are beyond subpar; the music, while epic, is overwhelming and tiring; the production is kind of messy and more often than not takes away from the potential excitement; the overall album is long, way too long, way too damn long. I can see that they have ambitions, but it just tired the hell out of me to hear the same thing song after song again and again for so long. 3.2/5
4Milton Nascimento and Lo Borges
Clube da Esquina

midwestern hillbilly
Another long one, but at least this one had more variety to it. Most of the songs on here were really pleasing and calming. On the other hand, it suffers from the exact same problem most other albums with over 20 tracks do, it's hard to sit through. I found myself coming back to it, but I could point out only one instance, in which I actually finished listening to it. 3.8/5
