Current bands? Good question, none that pop into my head. The Runaways were a massive band in the 70s. PussyRiot made a lot of ground because of their protests. There are some massive east Asian all female pop bands, but they don't really make inroads overseas. There are plenty of good all female bands that aren't that big around though: Amanda X, Sharkmuffin, and Ex Hex all pop in my head of pretty fucking great bands. |

Astarte had 1 extremely killer album back in the day, but then after it they fell into the "teehee we are an all girl band" until their singer kicked it. There's that Priest cover band that is pretty popular in some circles, too. |

10.09.17 | Yup, same thing happened when Iron Maiden played in Greece during their Brave New World tour. Everybody was so anxious to see Maiden that the supporting act had no chance at all. People were throwing bottles, coins, water, tenths of round plastic shit girls were wearing on the heads and spitting them which forced the supporting act to play only a couple of songs and then disappear. Felt genuinely bad for these guys. |
