13 Albums I Need to Check for 2017
We're actually getting towards the end of the year. I'm sure a few others will sneak in there, but these are the albums I still need to check out before the year ends for consideration in my 2017 Best Of lists. |
| 1 | | Mutemath Play Dead
Don't know what to expect here. The last one was very synth heavy. I hear this one is more rocky. |
| 2 | | Foo Fighters Concrete and Gold
Yeah, I suspect their best days are behind them. But I'll still give them a listen. |
| 3 | | Black Kids Rookie
I really liked their last album. It was very '80s new wave influenced. |
| 4 | | Emily Haines and the Soft Skeleton Choir of the Mind
I've always liked Metric, so I'll have to give her a shot. |
| 5 | | The National Sleep Well Beast
Truth be told, I've never been that crazy about this band. But they're sort of a New York band now, so I'll give the album a chance. |
| 6 | | Kenn Morr Along the Way
Acoustic indie artist from CT. Used to be a local Long Island guy. I always enjoy his work. |
| 7 | | The Killers Wonderful Wonderful
Yeah, I suspect their best days are behind them. But I'll still give them a listen. [2] |
| 8 | | The Movielife Cities In Search Of A Heart
It's been almost 15 years since these guys released an album. I'm looking forward to seeing what's up with them these days. |
| 9 | | Ted Leo The Hanged Man
Never really knew much about him until he started performing with Aimee Mann. I'll give him a shot. |
| 10 | | Brand New Science Fiction
I've been holding out for the CD. I'm not as big a fan as some people on this site, but I still expect that this album will make my Top 10 list. |
| 11 | | Ayreon The Source
I saw e's review of one of their older albums earlierthis week, and decided to check out their new album. Sounds right up my alley. |
| 12 | | Lights Skin & Earth
Didn't even know she had a new one coming out until I saw Sowing's preview of new releases for this week. She's been getting better and better. |
| 13 | | Looming Seed
Hey, nice, this album just got posted on Sput. (Thanks Sandwich). This singer has a really weird voice, but I kind of like it. Might even review this album when it comes out. |
