Rnd 5: Pjorn Doesn't Hate Everything

This one might be hard, so I'll give you the weekend to figure it out, I'll be listening to these on Monday while i'm at work. Your contestants are: nazz, bloon, Ovrot, claire, wolfe, ramon, dctarga, kris, latitudes, zip, clover, aaron, avagantamos, and sach.
In Humor and Sadness

Duos that aren't Hip-Hop or Electronic (single tracks still)

Ovrot - 2
Clover- 1
ramon - 1
2Iron Lung
Sexless // No Sex

"Future Corpses"

really noisy and dope modern pv. really liked their guitarist's kinda dissonant style. song ripped, no idea why I haven't jammed this. 4.0/5.0
Circle the Wagons

"Circle the Wagons"

started off pretty promising, but then the vocals came in. some of the lamest shit I've heard in a long time. I can't express how much I hate the vocals on this. It was essentially unlistenable. at least he started doing a scream-ish thing once, but it was mainly just shitty and cheesey. ending was cool and all the instrumentation was cool tho. it gets a little bit above a 2.5 mainly because I did really like the riff. 2.75/5.0
4Against Me!
Crime as Forgiven By

"I Still Love You Julie"

song was just kinda annoying. didn't like the choice by the drummer to play with almost all rimshots instead of cymbals. guitar line wasn't really anything special or interesting. vocals sounded like a tim armstrong impression; also not really into that. not much here to like. 2.0/5.0 -ELIMINATED-
5Dead Can Dance
Within the Realm of a Dying Sun

"Anywhere Out Of This World"

beginning of this song sounded like something you'd hear at the beginning of a horror movie soundtrack from 1985. song was super gothy. vocals were tight. kinda wish some sort of drum track would've been there alongside the keyboard and vocals, but it was decent regardless. i'll probably check some more of them. 3.5/5.0

"Stays Demons"

kinda doomy/droney stuff. this one really did it for me. zoned out pretty hard to this. really thicc and had a pretty sweet wall of sound thing going. definitely gonna check more out. 4.0/5.0
Lost Tales

song definitely had an almost dungeon synth vibe a little to it. definitely could be some DnD music for sure. i will say it was probably a little too repetitive to me. it got pretty sweet around 3:30 tho. overall a pretty decent track tho. 3.25/5.0

these guys have a pretty big sound for just being a two piece. pretty cool bm/sludge stuff. did some cool kinda slower melodic half-way through. nothing incredible, but a good song. minus .1 for being a band that was already rec'd. 3.4/5.0
9Devouring Humanity
Devouring Humanity

"Suffering of Biblical Proportions"

well, i know we have some amount of overlap with taste sometimes, but I never really got into slam. this was pretty fucking brutal tho. tbh I hate this vocal style, but I know it's not really about that with this kind of shit. song was probably a little too long, but it definitely went hard. was pretty hard for me to think of a rating for this, so it gets a 3.0/5.0

I feel bad about this because I do like the godflesh I've heard and I dig other stuff broadrick has done. this song didn't do much for me tho, was just a little boring and the drum tone was just.. idk, it wasn't my thing. main riff was kinda meh too. i feel bad because I usually dig stuff like this, but maybe this was just the wrong song to rec. 2.5/5.0 -ELIMINATED-
Lathi Charge

"Chihan Ki Pari"

well like always aaron, you put in another awesome rec. nepali grindcore. shit slaps. was super short but went hard. 3.75/5.0

"El Despertar"

don't really know how to place what this band is. mathcore I guess? either way, vocals were cool, was kinda surprisingly melodic. another short one too. interesting shit my man. 3.9/5.0
13Bell Witch

"Rows (Of Endless Waves)"

song was fucking brutal m8. vocals were super up my alley. really doomy, really sad. drumming was good and not just standard doom bullshit. really knocked it out of the park with this one dawg. they kinda skip the spooky imagery shit with some doom and just do the slow/sad thing. i was really into it. 4.25/5.0 -WINNER-
The Sphagnum Bog

"Trichopatho Skeleton"

just really insane cybergrind/glitchcore stuff. was really ridiculous, some really cool ideas. vocals were tight. just wish the production was better, but I know that kinda comes with it being cybergrind. either way, probably one of the better CG songs i've heard. was dope. 4.0/5.0
15All Human
Teenagers, You Don't Have to Die

"Where's my upslope"

weird song, didn't know how I felt about it at first, but I thought it was pretty cool after it was over. kinda reminded me of some FBTMOF stuff a tiny bit. wasn't amazing, but wasn't bad. 3.0/5.0
