Blaqk Audio - Bright Black Heaven Ranked
The album that took forever to release for these guys. They had about 30 tracks done for this and I really hope more of those see the light of day.
Really like this album. It grew off me a bit after release but coming back to it, it all holds up really well. The highs don't reach CexCells but it's still a super consistent package.
Also you can't give your album a sick name and then make this its cover art -.- |

The Witness - this was in some movie with that other dude from Twilight. Umm yeah. It's not bad it has a pretty fun chorus and I guess it tries to be brooding but it doesn't really feel that way so yeah. It's fine. |

Afterdark - Another song that kinda misses its mark. I feel like it could have been much darker both vocally and instrumentally and ends up a bit less interesting because of it. Still good though. |

The Switch - A really great track that actually gives me some Bitter For Sweet vibes, I just don't listen to it much since it's a bonus track. |

Everybody's Friend - super fun song that ends up being a bit longer than I want it to be. That earthquake line is pretty cringey though. |

Faith Healer - That chorus is a jam. Just another song that could have been relatively big if these guys actually got proper publicity. |

Fade To White - it's some sort of edgy dance track which is almost the opposite of that one good Metallica song so that's pretty cool. |

Bon Voyeurs - A harmless dance track. Nothing super special but it's just so solid and makes me wanna move. |

Mouth to Mouth - I actually got into this group around the time of this song's release and I loved it. It's a shame it didn't make the album but before the album's actual release, I would jam the hell out of this. |

Cold War - another early pre-release song and it's actually pretty different for them. I love how it builds to the second half. |

Bliss - Didn't get this song for the longest time but wow, it's mesmerizing. The verse in particular just captures you. Really great job to both of these guys |

Down Here - One of the best songs to come out before the album that unfortunately didn't make the album and thus it isn't in my music library so I can't listen to it as much as I want to. Another super well written song with a somewhat dark tone. |

Let's Be Honest - this was probably my favorite Blaqk Audio track at one point but I really really overplayed it. I used to think the chorus was like the best thing ever and it's still great but yeah I had a problem with the replay button about 5 years ago with this one. |

With Your Arms Around You - This song is pretty outstanding. The last chorus section is one of the best parts of this album. |

Deconstructing Gods - One of the coolest song titles ends up being one of the best songs on the album. The verse is haunting and the way it builds to the chorus is so right. |

Say Red - That half-time in the last chorus gets me every time. This was one of the highlights when I saw them live. It's another Again, Again, and Again. It was also a track they played live way before the album's release so I listened to live videos of this all of the time. Still idk the vocals sometimes sound a bit awkward in the recording while live they sounded fine. Great track regardless. |

Ill Lit Ships - The best pre-release song and the best song on the actual album. It's amazing to finally have a piano driven song with Davey giving it all he has. One of the most beautiful songs these guys have ever done and although I was kind of tired of it by the time the album came out, I'm glad I can happily consider it one of my favorite songs. |

Bite Your Tongue - The Mute of this album. The song feels like a dark AFI tack in a way. Davey sounds outstanding throughout. I really just want an album full of tracks like these. |
