Worst of the Best: The Competition ROUND 3

This time around, let's do a reverse. List of participants: CzechyGuy, Jasdevi087, neekafat, anatelier, DeadlyNightShade, DeusAutomata9012, Sevengill, Conmaniac, Drifter, dbizzles, butcherboy, DoofusWainwright, BlazinBlitzer, AsleepInTheBack, anarchistfish, pjorn, SoccerRiot, bgillesp, Joeman82, CompostCompote
20Death Grips

CzechyGuy
Thru Walls

This is what Death Grips sounded to me on every track, when I first found out about them. Disoriented, directionless and fucking insane. It's weird just how much I don't mind the track now, but how much I would definitely hate it upon my first hearing of Death Grips. 3.5/5

Blood Bank

Woods

I surprisingly don't despise this, although I was ready to do exactly that. This a capella detour will clearly make more sense in the context of the album, but as a standalone track, it's just weird and uninteresting. I personally enjoy a capella songs, because they sound moving, no matter what kind it is, and this one is definitely that in a way. But a capellas require a very particular vocal talent to be pulled off; not everyone is able to do them, because you simply don't have the instrumental backing that you can arrange to make your lack of vocal abilities sound like 'style' or let go unnoticed at all. But who in the world though that Justin Vernon is a great choice for an a capella song performer? Nobody in the fucking world. 3.3/5
18Black Flag
What The...

DeadlyNightShade
This is Hell

For as inherently weird as this track is, I can hear a certain musical idea. It doesn't annoy me, it doesn't enrage me, I don't even think that it was insufferable to listen to. I just think it isn't that memorable. And that's about all the complains I have to this. 3.1/5
17Judas Priest
Ram It Down

Sevengill
Love You to Death

Mildly violent mobile games from 2006 called, they want their ultimate soundtrack back. 3.0/5
16Gentle Giant
Giant for a Day

SoccerRiot
Spooky Boogie

'Puttin' on the Ritz': The rejected version. 3.0/5
15The Smashing Pumpkins
Machina/The Machines of God

neekafat
The Imploding Voice

This song is not actually that bad. Its chorus is nice and the overall Smashing Pumpkiness is still present and makes the atmosphere of fun. But there is just this one tiny thingie that ruins it all. The production that sounds like the track was recorded on a potato. 2.9/5
14David Bowie
David Bowie

butcherboy
The Laughing Gnome

Underneath all that annoying-ass squealing, there is a really good Folk song. What the hell were you thinking Dave? 2.8/5
13Ween
Quebec

AsleepInTheBack
The Fucked Jam

I...I feel like I'm listening to either something they use in Guantanamo to torture people, or is a recording of those people being tortured, but set to music to mute the animalistic shrieks and cries for help. 2.7/5
12Eminem
Encore

Drifter
Ass Like That

Eminem doing big asses song is like Nicky Minaj stating Marina Tsvetaeva as a main influence for her next album. It just feels wrong. 2.5/5 P.S.: Why is Triumph in that Intro to Felt Surrogacy music video?
11Bright Eyes
A Collection Of Songs Written And Recorded '95-'97

Conmaniac
Supriya

"Bright Eyes: Live in the Metro" 2.5/5
10Blur
Think Tank

CompostCompote
Crazy Beat

Song 2 (Shit Remix). 2.4/5
9Modest Mouse
Strangers to Ourselves

DoofusWainwright
Pistol

What in the world...? 2.2/5
8Tom Petty
Full Moon Fever

dbizzles
Zombie Zoo

Of all the words that exist, I think that 'petty' describes this song the best. 2.2/5
7Rush
Caress of Steel

I Think I'm Going Bald

The official end of Hair Metal? 2.0/5
6Weezer
Raditude

BlazinBlitzer
Can't Stop Partying

The number one insiration for Lil Wayne's iconic Rebirth album. 1.9/5
5The Beach Boys
Summer in Paradise

Jasdevi087
Summer of Love

This is what me paps thinks Pop music sounds like...and me paps is dead! 1.8/5
4Metallica
Some Kind of Monster

Joeman82
Temptation

Let this concept sink in: This track is so bad that it was cut from St. Anger... yeah, it sounds like shit. 1.7/5
3Queensryche
Dedicated to Chaos

DeusAutomata9012
Got It Bad

Not that I ever was a fan of Queensryche at all, but I didn't expect their music to be this aggressively bland, formless and forgettable. Good god, it's punishingly unbearable. 1.5/5
P.S.: Look up DeusAutomata's feelings about the track in the comments, it's worth the read.
2Guns N' Roses
Use Your Illusion II

bgillesp
My World

There's this thing called artistic vision. It's what drives an artist forward to do his best, to create something for ages, something that would simbolise all the artist is about and what the presented material is worth. There's no fucking way, that guy (can't remember if it's Guns or the Roses one) thought that this electronised, spoken-word musical equivalent of a fart is the best for the album. 1.2/5
1Deftones
Saturday Night Wrist

-VICTORIOUS-
pjorn
Pink Cellphone

...also this. At least, for as godawful as My World is, it isn't all that long, so it'll just leave you wondering what the hell did you just hear. But Pink Cellphone is just plain and simple piece of atrocity. (it does go well with the cover art, though). 1.1/10
