Nostalgic The First Time.

Nostalgia is something we all value highly in music. but while it usually shows up after a year or so of listening, these albums hit my roots the first time I listened.
1Porcupine Tree
Fear of a Blank Planet

Something about the lush keyboard arrangements really struck a chord with me. And the last half of Anesthetize means so much to me, but in a very strange and indescribable way...
2 Rise Against
Siren Song of the Counter-Culture

This took me very strongly back to my roots in mainstream, angry post-hardcore and punk. Not to mention that "Swing Life Away" already had a very deeply ingrained sentimentality to it by the time I heard this whole thing.
3Opeth
Deliverance

Mainly the title track, and mainly the first soft section of that song. When Mikael first croons "Walk with me, you'll never leave" it took me back to being five years old and bouncing up and down to the Genesis my dad was blasting in the car. Strange? Yes.
4The Flashbulb
Soundtrack to a Vacant Life

Something, something, something about this. Benn Jordan's vast assortment of moods on this record is incredible. Certain parts of it had me longing to go back and start over, and others had me looking forward with the deepest of introspection, if that makes sense. This album's affected me like no other has in a long time.
5Sigur Ros
Takk

The whole album affected me the first time, but mostly Saeglopur. That song is still incredibly epic and engrossing.
6Deftones
Saturday Night Wrist

This album came to me in a strange way. It had been out for a year by the time I bought it, but during that time, I'd listened to most of the songs exactly one time. So when I obtained it and listened to it all the way through, "Beware", "Cherry Waves", "Rapture", "Kimdracula", and "Riviere" were all like phantom songs from an unmemorable time in my past. Very strange feeling indeed. And also. This record slays. Rats Rats Rats is my favorite Deftones song.
