Papa Universe 07.02.17	Djent to me. It's a subgenre of Progressive Metal that literally never progresses. Everey single song is exactly the same structure and exactly the same kind of instrumentation and production. It comes so far that you can even find various songs to have the exact same songwriting. I see it as unquestionably the most uninspired genre there is.

Plus in a genre where you can have Behemoth, Death, Portal, Immolation, Blood Incantation, Emptiness, Dying Fetus, Cryptopsy, and Ulcerate at the same time, there's really a huge amount of variation in sounds it can take. I don't see why one has to make a distinction between liking shoegaze and liking shoegaze records, and industrial can be pretty great. Your points against it seem like projecting.
