Ashes of the Wake
In this album LOG solidified their signiture heavy, almost evil sound. All of the songs here are brutal and aggressive and are great headbangers. Problem is, it's not very consistent, with its first half full of great memorable songs, and second half which is mostly filler. Iron
I never liked this band as mush as I hoped to like them, but this album is still pretty fun. Nothing here will blow your mind, it's just 45 minutes of hype and simple fun. And to be honest, you really don't need a lot more than that. | | 6 |  | The Haunted

The Glorious Burden
It's... good I guess? I mean it's not bad enough for me to dislike it but at the same time, not good enough for me to like it. It's an okay heavy metal album with okay songs, some of them are better than the others and I guess they're all good, but none is really memorable.
The Gettysburg trilogy is a different story though, that's actually really great. An epic, symphonic, stirring piece lasting around 30 minutes of pure awesome. It really feels out of place in this otherwise pretty unmemorable album. | | 8 |  | Soulfly

I'm starting to change my mind about this album. There's a lot to love here and I'm definitely getting more and more comfortable with this album and what it tries to do. Its a pretty weird one, with some songs being just pure, unadulterated spurts of unrelenting aggression, and the other ones being more experimental, focusing more on creating something creative, innovative or just new than creating something that is... good. Even if it isn't necessarily the best album ever created, I still really appreciate it for what it is and what it's trying to be. | | 9 |  | Disillusion
Back to Times of Splendor
An interesting progressive metal album, this one contains a lot of cool stuff and different influences and ideas. I'm not sure any one of them manifests into anything solid, and there aren't a lot of memorable moments here, but I appreciate the album's richness and overall style. | | 10 |  | Skyfire
Spectral
