06.12.17 | If you like 9, also check out Blind Guardian - Somewhere Far Beyond. 10 is good, but I prefer Hellfire Club. Stratovarius have not aged as gracefully as I'd hope they would have. Angra are just one of those bands that release some killer tunes, but as a whole their albums are certainly a mixed bag.
Sonata Arctica's first three albums Ecliptica through Winterheart's Guild, are 3 of the best in the genre if you've never jammed them. |

Have fun with 2, 4, 5, 7 and 9. Those are all super awesome and very unique.
8 is just standard power metal and not really worth the extensive attention, never got into 6 because I always thought Blind Guardian had a similar style but better executed (they're technically still great), and 3 is kinda fun when in the mood but it's all the same after a while, so also not really worth the time imo. Haven't really bothered with 10 since Avantasia was always a bit more to my liking and the stuff I heard from them was pretty boring (albeit admittedly catchy). That leaves 1 which are definitely cool, but I haven't heard enough by them to make a reliable statement. |
