Blonde Ranked
Ranking the greatest album of all time. Also this is strictly personal, though I feel like #1 is pretty subjective for this album whereas most people would agree "Pyramids" was #1 for channel ORANGE. |

Be Yourself - A cheeky lil skit, but it annoyed the fuck out of me on my first few listens. Also stop fucking saying this is Frank's mom talking, you uncultured swines. |
| 16 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Facebook Story - Though Sebastian is undeniably pretentious in this skit, I still find it fucking hilarious just because of its absurdity. |
| 15 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Close to You - I've given this song so many listens and I still don't understand what people see in it. It's not terrible of course, but I don't really wish it were any longer either. |
| 14 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Pretty Sweet - I am a firm defender of this song. It seems to be the most hated on song from the album, but goddamn that beat drop just gets me every time. And in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really stick out from the rest of the album. At least not in a negative way. |
| 13 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Solo - Probably a surprising choice putting this this low, but this seems to be the only track that has grown off of me rather than grown on me. I love the vocal performance, the lyrics are great, etc. etc. I think my problem with the song is that it's just sooooo slow and doesn't really change much throughout its length, meaning I'm pretty likely to skip. |
| 12 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Solo (Reprise) - SOLO THAT I CAN SEE UNDER THE SKIRT OF AN ANT.
Andre goes off. Legend. |
| 11 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Good Guy - Wish it were longer. I like it a lot, but I feel like it could've had way more emotional impact if it weren't treated like an interlude and more fleshed out. |
| 10 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Skyline To - Another song I defend to the death. Goddamn, that part in the middle takes me to a whole other dimension. Underrated, even if it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. |
| 9 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Nikes - God, this was the moment. Frank returned. Like a lot of people, I hated the high pitched intro and thought it went on for way too long, but damn is it a grower. |
| 8 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Futura Free - Honestly, I think this is a perfect closer. I feel like it kind of summarizes Frank's desire to not be in the public eye but still be a damn legend and make music. |
| 7 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
White Ferrari - BAD LUCK TO TALK. ON THESE RIDES. |
| 6 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Godspeed - This might be #1 if it were like a minute longer. God, this is gorgeous. I don't understand how it's so low on most people's lists, but I assume it's cause it goes by so quickly. |
| 5 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Pink + White - Probably the catchiest song on the album and my god, the production on this thing is just...wow. Very cinematic too. I get lil flashbacks of me and my girl as childhood friends when I hear this summer shit. |
| 4 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Ivy - I want to pretend this song is overrated, I really do. But it just isn't. It's Blonde's "Thinkin Bout You", but even more introspective and heartbreaking. |
| 3 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Nights - ROUND THE CITY, ROUND THE CLOCK.
While I don't think it's as good as "Pyramids", that beat change and the rapping at the end are top tier Frank. I hear this song after every long night out as I take the freeway to go back home. Gorgeous. |
| 2 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Self Control - On my first listen, I knew this was going to end up being one of, if not, my favorite song off the album. That guitar, man. It's so meditative. |
| 1 | | Frank Ocean Blonde
Seigfried - DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THIS TRACK. That guitar? Perfect. The strings that come in the end? Hollllyyy shit. It's the song I hear during an existential crisis and a mental breakdown. "I'll do anything for you / in the dark". It feels like a ramble, like Frank's own personal therapy session. |
