List does NJ proud for the most part |
Satellite
05.18.17 | not bad, but i could probably slay this w/ a michigan list, even though we're responsible for the dogshit trifecta of kid rock, ted nugent and icp. |
Satellite
05.18.17 | yeah the boardwalks and beaches are pretty awesome

05.18.17 | Newark is more of a light mugging kind of town, Camden is where all of the action is. |
JasonCarne
05.18.17 | BTW Butcher - NYC is kind of the cultural hub of the universe, that city alone is like a cheat code for your state. NY is undoubtedly top dog state for hip-hop and hardcore...which if we're being honest is what matters more than most things. |

05.18.17 | boston hardcore > la hardcore > nyc hardcore
but your point stands |
butcherboy
05.18.17 | True, most punk bands from NYC were started by runaway kids from the Midwest.. I'm only fucking around anyway.. Like I said, the feelies alone make jersey rad in my book.. Newark airport is hell on earth though |
Artuma
05.18.17 | the second most miserable-looking place i've ever been to |

Slex
05.19.17 | home to a ridiculous number of great bands but man i'm sorry i fucking hate Jersey |
JasonCarne
05.19.17 | Well, the state IS run by morons and everything is excessively expensive, so I understand your point, but there is a lot of good in Jersey too. It's not just Newark, the Turnpike and overpriced beaches. |
nol
05.19.17 | was born in NJ but not raised, Piscataway represent, didn't know a lot of these bands were from my native land |
Hep Kat
05.20.17 | fucking the worst fucking state |

bbdmittenz
05.20.17 | Good list man. Where in NJ you from? I am too. Proud to be here |
CompostCompote
05.20.17 | List brings to light how good Jersey is at producing vaguely artful jocks. |
Slex
05.20.17 | what got me about Jersey was that everyone there kept telling me how great it was and how much Philly sucked. I was in Cherry Hill, and everyone there was ruder and more annoying than any other place i've ever been, and in Philly, everyone I came across was super nice and cool, so it was basically the exact opposite of what I was told. |
DustyTill
05.21.17 | I prefer Valhalla |
hikingmetalpunk
05.25.17 | nice putting reggie noble on here. all time great.

05.25.17 | New Jersey ain't the whole woooooorld |
JasonCarne
05.26.17 | Did Sinatra ever record anything while living in Jersey though? There are a few really famous singers FROM NJ, but never lived there during their career (I think the same is true of Paul Simon, Sarah Vaighan and Whitney Houston?).
I also forgot The Wrens and Burnt By The Sun, damn. |
Satellite
05.26.17 | Sinatra's hit "Newark, Newark" was recorded in Jersey I believe. |
