A7x Ranked

Haven't done a list in a little while and I've been wanting to do this for a little while.
7Avenged Sevenfold
Hail to the King

What a surprise and how predictable? The lowest rated A7x on the website gets that reputation for a good reason. It is an uninteresting, repetitive album with uninteresting drumming. I guess that is what they were going for, but that doesn't make it good. It has about 3 good songs on it, one being the title track, Sheperd of Fire is enjoyable and Coming Home is great. Outside of that, this album more or less sucks.

Sounding the Seventh Trumpet

Just a metalcore album but the lack of Gates is really noticeable. Also, M. Shadows isn't the greatest screamer. Just an ehh album, nothing too great and nothing that bad, per say.
5Avenged Sevenfold
Nightmare

Probably overall better than self-titled, but not by much. I still really enjoy this album and we have now left the zone of albums of which I find little enjoyment from.

Avenged Sevenfold

Really, the reason it is this high is because I absolutely love Afterlife. So much. There are a few other songs that are good, but man, I love Afterlife.
3Avenged Sevenfold
Waking the Fallen

Brace yourselves, the flame war is coming! Waking the Fallen is NOT #1 album in their discography :O. I just don't find that is that great. Sure, it's good, really good, but it definitely does not live up to they hype that it receives and is just a metalcore album.
2Avenged Sevenfold
City of Evil

And the Silver Medal goes to City of Evil. Leaving their metalcore roots behind and going to a more melodic, solo-driven A7x sound that we know today. Sprawling songs, intricate melodies, and Shadows finaly giving up screaming, City of Evil is an amazing album that has plenty of replayability.
1Avenged Sevenfold
The Stage

After the massive letdown of HTTK, A7x came back with a new energy and a more progressive sound. The solos were amazing, the drumming was on point and "Exist" is a 15-minute masterpiece. Highlights are the title track, God Damn, Fermi Paradox, and Exist.
