7 desert island albums

not necessarily all my favorite albums, but ones i'd definitely see as important enough to take with me for their own separate reasons. what would you guys take on a desert island if you could?
7Captain, We're Sinking
The Future Is Cancelled

in my opinion, the perfect punk album, holds up still after every listen and has some of the best and most honest lyrical content in a punk project. catchy ass shit with beautiful melodies coupled with the rawest emotion that no band in today's scene could even come close to rivaling.
6Atmosphere
God Loves Ugly

an album that mixes some amazing beats with fucking phenomenal bars with lyrics mixing self awareness with vulnerability to make one of the best underground hip hop albums ever.
5Kendrick Lamar
good kid, m.A.A.d city

now i couldn't go without bringing an album without some bangers on it. storytelling at its finest and kendrick never ceases to blow his contemporaries out of the fucking water.
4Have Mercy
The Earth Pushed Back

a truly atmospheric album seemingly dripping with emotion from every seam. sometimes you forget that it's just four dudes playing instruments in a room for a second, and it feels like something beyond epic. also thinking about reviewing the new album first. spoiler alert it sucks.
3La Dispute
Wildlife

an album that explores the deepest darkest intricacies of the human mind in the most chaotic but beautiful way that only a band like La Dispute could pull off.
2Regina Spektor
Soviet Kitsch

i don't know what it is about this album and Regina's style that makes everything around me just stop and i feel disconnected for around 38 minutes and it is the best fucking feeling in the damn word. i could listen to Us on repeat for days, in fact i have lol.
1The Cure
Disintegration

honestly i have no words that could justify how much i love this album and how great it is on every level. the quintessential rock album imo.
