Aussie Bands With A Future

These are the Australian bands that are making their way into the music scene, some have been there a while, others are only just arriving. Either way, I think these are the bands we'll be hearing about for a long time to come.
1Pendulum

They made Drum'n'Bass big news. They're now based in an entirely different country. If thats not success I don't know what is.
2The Butterfly Effect

I doubt they'll ever have a number 1 hit, or even a top 20/40, but they're going to be a continuous figure in the rock scene and they've already had singles in other countries. Can't wait for their new album.
3Karnivool

Prog Rock. They will never be as successful as Ian Kennedy's (the lead singer) other band, Birds of Tokyo, but I feel the critics will prefer them. And so will I.
4Birds of Tokyo

Their second album, Universes, is proving to be extremely successful in Australia. They've got potential to be a success elsewhere in the world too.
5Cog

Australia's response to Tool and Opeth.
6Gotye

Any band (even if its a one-man band) that has a remix album of their first album is destined for big things. Good thing Gotye is nothing like Linkin Park, aye?
7Gyroscope

Australia's response to all those American radio rock bands. Radio rock with an aussie accent.
8PNAU

Giving you dance with a dash of herbs and spices. They're a semi-successful band. Everyone (in Australia at least) seems to know them, but no-one really admits to listening to them.
9The Presets

They're a true dance group (not hip hop or pop) that are getting massive hits. Should be interesting.
10Faker

Annoying as all hell, but admittedly getting enormous hits.
11Operator Please

Another excruciatingly annoying band that are too successful for their own good (a teenage band, lets hope they fade away instead of getting better in the limelight like Silverchair)
12British India

Garage rock that are proving themselves with their second album in only just over a year. They're off to tour Europe later this year.
13Midnight Juggernauts

Don't really know much about these guys, but I hear their name alot. Can only be for one reason.
14The Vines

Already well acclaimed on the world stage, although I'm not a fan.
15Hilltop Hoods

Finally, Australia has a real HipHop/Rap group to boast about.
16Kisschasy

As if people don't know these guys. Hideously big hit awhile ago. They could be a risky placing on this list, because they have the potential to just disappear as quickly as their fame appeared.
17Cut Copy

These guys get talked about alot now, have a lot of potential to hit Europe. Not sure about America.
18Missy Higgins

Old news to Aussies, but new to America.
