| My Favorite 10 Springsteen Albums
I've got a weird kind of love-hate thing for Springsteen, but I can't deny the power of his music. | 10 | | Bruce Springsteen Wrecking Ball
Mostly just because I needed a number 10, and I like this one just a little better than the other studio albums I didn't rank. | 9 | | Bruce Springsteen Working on a Dream
There are more songs I like on here than on any other album after "Tunnel of Love". | 8 | | Bruce Springsteen Nebraska
I've never liked this album as much as a lot of other people do, but "Atlantic City" is a standout. | 7 | | Bruce Springsteen Tunnel of Love
I think this was the first CD I ever owned. The title track is solid. | 6 | | Bruce Springsteen Born in the U.S.A.
Ironically, this is the one that made him a megastar, but for me, it's also where he started going downhill. His best five albums were all before this one. | 5 | | Bruce Springsteen Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.
It's almost a coin toss between 4 and 5. Lots of great songs on here, including "Spirit in the Night", "For You" and "Growin' Up". | 4 | | Bruce Springsteen The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle
I gave this the nod over 5 mostly because of "Rosalita" and "Sandy". | 3 | | Bruce Springsteen The River
Not quite at the same level as 1 & 2, but not too far off the mark. Probably would be closer if he'd cut a few songs and made it a single album, but I'm not sorry he released it the way he did. | 2 | | Bruce Springsteen Born to Run
Really tough call between this and 1. Even the smaller songs like "Meeting Across the River" are brilliant, and "Thunder Road" is my favorite song of his. | 1 | | Bruce Springsteen Darkness on the Edge of Town
Ridiculous how good this and 2 are. I've only got 14 albums rated 5 over about 50 years of music, and Springsteen has two of them. This one barely ekes out the top spot over 2 just because it has more great songs, not because the songs are greater. | |

12.09.16 | nebraska not being in the top 5 is criminal | theBoneyKing
12.09.16 | I really need to properly get into Springsteen one of these days. | Satellite
12.09.16 | i'd really love to afford to see him live | Astral Abortis
12.09.16 | Springsteen rules too hard | TwigTW
12.09.16 | I go back and forth between 1 and 2 as the best, but The River gives them both a run for the money... Never got into Nebraska that much either, I should give it another listen. | wham49
12.09.16 | dig it, although I think that 4-5 are my 1-2 and 1 is 3 | Divaman
12.10.16 | The River is just a little less focused than 1 and 2.
Wham, I hear you. 4 and 5 are still great albums. I made my picks, but you can certainly make a credible argument for yours. | Jethro42
12.10.16 | Nice list Divaman. I need to revisit Springsteen here and there around your top 5. | SandwichBubble
12.10.16 | The River is always 1 in my eyes~
Agree wholeheartedly with 6's description. | TwigTW
12.10.16 | Me and two friends went away for the weekend and played The River over and over. The thing that got me is how each of us loved it for a different reason. I loved the ballads: The River, Point Blank, Independence Day. One friend loved the Rockers: Hungry Heart, I'm A Rocker, Sherry Darling. The other friend loved the 50s rave-ups: Cadillac Ranch, Ramrod, You Can Look. Such a great album. | Divaman
12.10.16 | I think the 50 rave-ups is the part of the album where he loses me, especially "Ramrod", athough I'm not big on "I'm a Rocker" either. I like "The River", "Point Blank", "Drive All Night" and "Sherry Darling" best. |
