| The Sputnik Years: The App
Hey guys, I made an app so that you can interact with the data of this list series. NOTE: The website the app is hosted on has a use limit of 25 total hours. So have fun with the app, but be efficient with use so that others will have time. The Role Of Smith
The app has two tabs. The first lets you see the rankings and lets you filter the lists by year, by weight type, by a different sorting confidence interval, and cutoffs for number of ratings. The weight type lets you change the weighting for the mean, the names of which should be self explanatory. I used the first of two confidence intervals for the list, the second one (bootstrap) is a simulation of the ratings (randomly sampling with replacement).
The second tab lets you see the weighted average and standard rating of each album over the years. It'll plot the average of the rating for ratings that were made in each particular year. | | 2 |  | Fleetwood Mac

10.29.16 | App is awesome (especially tab 2!). Sorry for maybe taking up too much time on it, but I was looking for a few specific albums and had to scroll for a bit. It seemed that bands on the charts (specifically for metal) have had their album ratings increase each year like Opeth, Meshuggah, Agalloch, Neurosis. Not sure how strong that trend is but was interesting to look at. | macman76
